Rocket Money has three tiers now. The free app, Premium at $7 to $14 a month, and Premium+ at $15 a month. Premium+ is the new one, and it’s built around Rowan, an AI assistant you text like you’d text a friend.
Premium+ costs a few dollars more than the top of the Premium range, and it changes two things. You get Rowan, and Rocket Money stops taking a cut of whatever it saves you on your bills.

Both paid tiers open with a seven-day free trial. Before you start any free trial, the FTC’s guide to free trials and auto-renewals is worth two minutes. Put the end date in your calendar while you’re thinking about it.
In this article, we’ll go through what each tier actually includes, what Rowan does all day, and when that extra $8 a month pays for itself.
Rocket Money finds the subscriptions you forgot you're paying for and cancels them with one tap, no calls or hold music. It'll also negotiate your phone, internet, and insurance bills down, and you only pay a fee if it actually lowers your bill. Bank-level AES-256 encryption and read-only connections keep your data safe. Try Premium free for 7 days, cancel anytime.

What each Rocket Money tier costs
The free app covers a lot. You can see every subscription Rocket Money finds, track your spending across linked accounts, watch your net worth, and check your credit score. What you can’t do on free is have the app cancel anything for you, build a watch list, or open it on a desktop.
Premium uses what Rocket Money calls pay-what-you-think-is-fair pricing. You pick the number, and it typically lands between $7 and $14 a month. Rocket Money says that range is subject to change. It was accurate when we checked on September 14, 2026.
Premium+ is a flat $15 a month. No sliding scale.

What Rowan actually does
Rowan is a text assistant. You ask it questions about your own money in plain language, the way you’d ask a friend who happens to be good with this stuff. What did I spend on groceries last month. Am I still paying for that trial I forgot to cancel.
The part Rocket Money leans on is that Rowan acts on what it finds. It doesn’t just flag a bill you could lower, it goes after it. Rocket Money describes Rowan as a proactive financial concierge that lives in your text messages.
Rowan is Premium+ only. There’s no cut-down version on Free or on Premium, so if you want it, $15 a month is the price of entry.

The bill negotiation fee is the bigger change
This is the part that’s easy to skip past, and for some households it’s a bigger deal than Rowan.
Rocket Money will contact your provider and try to bring a bill down for you. On Free and on Premium, that service is paid for with a success fee, which means Rocket Money keeps a share of whatever it saves you. On Premium+, there’s no success fee at all.
So the comparison isn’t really $8 a month for an AI assistant. It’s $8 a month for an AI assistant plus whatever that success fee would have cost you on the next bill they get lowered.

Who the $15 tier is for
Four situations where Premium+ adds up:
- You’ve got bills you can actually lower. Internet, phone, cable and insurance are the usual candidates. If Rocket Money lowers even one of them, skipping the success fee can cover the difference on its own.
- You already pay near the top of the Premium range. If your Premium price is set at $14 then Premium+ costs you one more dollar a month. That’s the whole gap!
- You want answers by text, not another dashboard to check. Rowan is built for people who’ll ask a question but won’t open an app to go looking.
- You’ve got a messy month coming. Moving, a new baby, a new job. Those are the months bills drift and subscriptions pile up unnoticed.
If none of those sound like you, Premium at the price you choose does the core job. The subscription hunting, the cancellations and the spending tracking are all in there.

How to try it without paying
Both paid tiers start with a seven-day free trial of the Premium features. It’s one trial per account, so don’t burn it on a week you’re too busy to open the app.
Cancel inside those seven days and you aren’t charged. Rocket Money bills monthly, so if you change your mind in month three there’s no annual plan to unwind.

Not sure which tier you want? Start the trial on Premium and watch what the app turns up in week one. If it finds bills you can bring down, the Premium+ arithmetic gets easy from there.

On the free tier and on Premium, yes. Rocket Money takes a success fee out of whatever it saves you on a negotiated bill. Premium+ removes that success fee, which is one of the two things the higher tier buys you.
