About me My name is Steve. I am a 25 year old male who works full time for the State of NJ. I work part time as a lifeguard and enjoys reading and researching the stock market. I would love to use this site as an opportunity to network with other individual investors, please don't hesitate to add me as a friend and share your thoughts and/or strategies I will graciously do the same. My investing philosophy is very much similar to Buffetology. Purchase company's at a value and hold long term. Unfortunately Wall Street Survivor will reward more short term trading than I prefer.

He is only older by 2 months though.  He works at the Marathon refinery where I work.  Only he is a chem engineer and I am a security guard.  He makes about 5 times what I make.  Oh well.   I am going to learn this stock market and get rich one day.  :)   Thanks for being my buddy and for stopping by.                       ~Laura

Tip: If you still have SIRI & XM sell them before they go into cents. You can buy the merger stock later at a cheaper price and make more than you have lost. Loosing 45k is too much of a loss try to limit loss by selling early when you see a 10-20% drop it is time to get out and wait for it to drop until it stablizes than buy back when it starts to increase by 5% or more. Try this strategy and I hope this helps you make a positive return on your entire portfolio above 100K break-even initial point.

Well friend you are very kind to respond thank you. I am not much of a reader given the fact that I have enough university books to study including the CICA handbook for my Auditing course, but thanks any ways I will keep in mind the titles for future references. Yes, I have heard of Mr. WB and PL but I think of myself as an individual first and do not get very impressed by the achievements of other. If you work hard and use your mind the way we all should, I think we can be even better gurus of the market. I would like to build my own wealth quietly and in a modest way because this is how everything should be done. I have a full-time job and university in the evening so I have to look into todays market and analyze before I make any comments, hopefully by tomorrow I will be able to give you some insight on worthy industries and descent picks. It is just a simulation so take it as a learning experience like I do and don't get too much into winning the whole thing, but in the process of learning if you win than it is nice boost of confidence towards stepping in the real market. Other than that enjoy the nice summer weather because in Canada summer is the time to get out meet family and frineds :)

Well Sir I am only 21 and I don't want to give you any advice on spending your money in the actual market because godforbid if something goes wrong than I will feel guilty for your loss. I have learned and practised trading via simulations for over 5 years in my high school and university career and this is my first year trading in actual life since I am about to graduate next year. I think this is the time to buy into long-term equities, but if you are into quick returns than I am not your guy. I am proud of making good picks, but I am still human and have made some pretty bad picks too. With high return equities there is always a great risk involved as these equities tend to fluctuate a lot and there is some probability that the equities might not respond to your expectations. The market these days is quiet a bummer bears almost all over the place so I am being really patient holding on to my equity porfolio. I only trade in equities due to religious and moral concerns because life for me is not about making money but living the way life is supposed to be lived in a simple peaceful way. I have a list of equities that I upgrade and change on a daily basis so if you want I will direct you to the industry type and hint you towards the stocks. That is all I can do to limit my liability on your investment decisions. Thank you for acknowledging my thoughts on the Airline and Financial sectors.
