About me Hi - I am an accountant; live in New England; have a son 13 and a daughter 11. I have traded with dismal results in real life for several years and follow the market closely. It takes an incredible effort to stay abreast of what's going on; the most frustrating thing about trading is that no matter how hard you work at it and think you know what the market's doing, it simply does what it wants. Especially of late, with the slumping economy & incredible volatility, the market can some days just about drive me crazy. But I guess in the end my strength (or is it insanity) is that I keep coming back for more. My advice for a contest like this is to take chances, be flexible, and always be ready to change your positions. And be sure to learn how to short if you haven't tried it yet. In the end, the hardest worker with the best luck may win. May it be you!
Get ahead of the game with realtime market quotes for as little as $10.99 a month!
As you may already know, I have a new project going on (mentioned in the Washington Post) where I am trying to raise $100k that will allow for 1) a live trading account 2) continued benefit for orphans in Ukraine 3) endow another top Wall Sreet Survivor to trade a live $100k account. I want to work for it rather than ask for donations so I started a blog where I publish my best stock trading ideas twice daily and I'm asking my WSS buddies to simply visit my blog. Hopefully you'll click on a Google ad that interests you or use the banner links to make your online Christmas purchases. When you get a chance, can you visit and help me reach this goal soon? Thanks!

Hi adirondackdave, I saw on the rankings board you were trading INTC. I guess INTC was looking too high and you sold it. I'm trying a short INTC if it gets nearer to $25
Today (July 31st) was a very painful day! The market reversed directions several times and I found myself buying, selling, shorting, covering, & buying the same stocks - only to be hit hard by the sharp dive in the market the last hour of the day. This market volatility is very hard to take at times and I admire those with the patience to endure it and succeed. Well, tomorrow's another day and let's hope a better one. Good luck all!
Hey Adirondackdave! Your Overview still looks great!
Nice recovery Adirondackdave, keep up the good work. Nice pick up on Bank of America, I work for the company but keep dumping the stock, i got a nice price on American Steel, made over 3k in the last 2 days. Your doing very well, keep it up.
Bad day for FNM, FRE, and the financials in general. Hope tomorrow will see a resumption of the recent uptrend!
I'm long on FRE and FNM now - it's been a wild ride but for now they seem to be on the way up from a severely oversold condition. Today both of them started strong but fizzled out by the close. The rally on both may be petering out but I am hoping for a little more upside from the carry over volatility tomorrow. But they continue to bear very careful monitoring - best of luck in your trading.
