Aye, I am shorting everything the looks like a high risk bank. I been spinning my wheels the past week; nothing seem to work out right and I been 95 short since june. The Energy comp like SU and MXC stole 20k from me. Im learning as i go, I Have to watch out the end of the quarters balance sheet. O I watch CNBC when im loged on, it helps alot.... if you can catch " live " stock prices  in the traders pit. which are the quickest quotes one can get.. the breaking news events help too; if you can get ahead of the masses... shewwwwW

Thanks, I have those two stocks in my real portfolio.  I also am an investor and have always bought & Held.  Got started in the Market (Mutual Funds) in August of 1989 during the first Gulf War due to my Mother dieing of cancer & I couldn't work full time, take care of her, her house & pets and my house & pets and manage my portgolio at the same time; so I pretty much got out of the Market in Middle of Dec. 1999.  Gradually I got back into the market in 2002 - both mutual funds & about 30-50 individual stocks.  Unfortunately, I did not sidestep this Bear, I was too bullish; but I did sell about 20 stocks and some of the mutual funds in March & April 2008; but I have still way too much in the market for my age.

I just always figured its not really a loss until I sell it.  I don't really want to take the $200,000 loss that I now have on paper.   I figured this would be a good way to learn while playing this game.

As to my two shorts, one has a profit and if it still has a profit when I get the credit for selling some losers, then I will cover it.  As to the other short, I will hold it hoping for it to go back to green.  But, I also have to include interest and isn't there a time in which to cover?

Thanks for your help and good luck making money!!
