Just want to say thanks again, you have given me a much needed breather from the demented man.  I am wondering if he isn't Carl Rove in disguise. LOL  He sure knows all of the dirty tricks Rove  liked to play when he ran the campaign for Bush and for McCain.  If he isn't Carl Rove he much have studied under him or something.

Thanks Jewdakris,  I have such a hard time trying to remain civil to a certain person and you say exactly what I am thinking everytime.   It is wonderful to have a friend like you who will take on such a demented personality as this person appears to be. I would often like to be more blunt myself, but am afraid of getting a warning from WSS if I said what I would like to say.

A bit fluffy, and not what I expected.

When and why did the Jewish people split into 2(?) afterlife beliefs? One holding a belief in the afterlife and one holding to no afterlife. Do the Jewish people who say there is no afterlife still hope for a Messiah? If so, what would his role be?

I have always been fascinated by the belief that there is no afterlife. The idea of ending seems very strange to me. In theory, I wrestle with preserving morality in the face of being finite. "Why not indulge, over indulge, and completely color outside of the lines?" I dont' practice or condone these things, but I wonder why anybody wouldn't if they were just going to end anyway.
