About me I'm first and foremost a grandma with lots of grandchildren and children too. I have so many different things that I would call my favorite things to do. I love crafts and reading David Baldacci mystery books and my soap opera ONE LIFE TO LIVE that I've watched since I was 15. I like to watch Lost and Desperate housewives. Summer time is all repeats though. I love our garden and we have lots of things planted. Corn, zuchinni, kolorabi, radishes, spinach, tomatos, all kinds of peppers, garlic, lettuce. This will be our first year to can so it will be a new experience for me. Let's hope I don't mess it up. I belong to a CITIZENS EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM and I've been trained to help people in emergency situations. I've learned how to use a fire extinquisher (which I didn't know how to do before my classes) I can put out fires and I know some medical to help if we are called out. We have had training in triage and in traffic control. It's really a nice volunteer group we've learned how to turn off the gas, electric and water if it is necessary. These things come in handy during an emergency. California has a nice CERT team. I collect stamps so that I can make holiday cards and birthday cards and I love going to garage sales. I find a lot of nice things for my little ones. Some days are better than others but we really find some good deals. I also like ebay. Sometimes I sell things and sometimes I buy things. We have beautiful flowers planted in hanging baskets all around the patio. I even have two strawberry plants this year and there is a strawberry on one of the plants already. When we bought the strawberries there was a note to plant sage by them so I bought a sage plant even though I don't like sage. My pink flowers are a vibrant pink and they are so beautiful. Of course pink is my favorite color. I do love all the colors we have this year. White, purple, orange, yellow, red. They are all so pretty. I would like to get a blue flower but we shall see. I also write poetry and have had some poems published. I like to write about nature.

Thanks for the reply.  This is important.  The s&p has gone down in afterhours this evening.  The spx is only 35 pts. higher than last Friday's low.  I really think that it can go to 775 which is the low after the dot com bubble burst.  The two etfs that we want to buy are  sso and  rsu.  They both are 2X s&p500.  The rsu is a little cheaper which means a person can get more shares.  I already have 35 sso in my real account, I got them for 26.25.  This chance may not come around again for a while.  It may happen tomorrow so we have to be ready.  I have to go out of town to a funeral tomorrow but I will try to look at the market.

Hello Goldie,  It's ten till two, Wednesday.  I just needed a shoulder to cry on since I know that you are one of the few who really understands.  My portfolio was doing fine until I shorted lcc and wb when they were real low.  I forgot to cover last friday afternoon and now the portfolio is trashed.  I just can't bear to cover them because I am so stubborn and it isn't real money.  I am expecting that we should retest the lows and I just can't admit defeat even though the numbers are speaking for me.  I learned that if I want to do strictly a daytrade, I could possibly use the 20 day ma. but for most trades, the 50 day ma is the bible.  I still have a little over 100k so I'm just crossing my fingers that the government doesn't do anything else to mess my game up!

your garden sounds beautiful.  we have just moved to a rural property ourselves in hopes to grow some vegetables and berries!  its too late in the season i think to start most things even with the mild winters we have here in california, but there is a 10'x12' greenhouse that i just finished that we can surely put something in during the winter -- we just dont know what to put in there yet!  tomatoes and peppers?  ...right now all we have growing is some cilantro in the window box.
