About me I have been playing the market since 1969, I have done very well and I plan on doing well in the market. I own my own business because of the stock, I just don't get greedy and trade only quality stocks. It's still the best game in town to get rich.

Hi Majik, Just thought I would check in again and wish you good luck.

Look's like Ford is hurting you right now but they will go back

up sooner or later. If you open and account with Scottrade for

500 do they still charge for each trade you make ?

Thanks for the info mafik13. What does Scottrade charge to make a trade and are there other fees? I know they offer a lot of really extensive and good charts.

Hi Barbara, I have an account with Scottrade and it's pretty good. You only need $500 to open an account and you can add any time you like any amount.
Now if you want to make money in the market it's not all that complicated, just choose 5 or 6 stocks and stick with those to trade, try to make sure there decent quality.
Keep away from the penny stocks because 98% of the people that play with these lose their shirt in the long run, most of these companies won't last 3 years at best.
I recommend putting some money into a good mutual fund and trade in that fund to make profits,  I do this and I trade back and forth between stock and bonds every day and it pays off in the long run with very little downside risk and I make money on the interest and capital gains no matter what.
If you ever have any questions just ask, I'll try to answer them.

Thank you majik13 for accepting my buddy request, and also for the much appreciated tips and compliment. I would really like to be efficient enough with investing to invest real money. Most people use an investment company or experienced broker, but I would prefer to handle the small sums I can afford to invest myself someday. I also enjoy your input in the forums and very definitely ditto on the compliment.
