Was Sidney Crosby wrong to not shake hands with the rest of the Detroit players?

Unlike LeBron who never shook anyone's hand and just took off the court (of course different circumstance since LeBron's team were eliminated).  But was Sidney Crosby wrong to not shake hands with the rest of the Detroit players?

He did become the youngest captain to win the cup, but not shaking hands with the rest of the Red Wing players, was that wrong?

     absolutely, it was wrong.

First of all, this is sports. All these athletes make good money (some much more so than others). And it's good sportmanship to shake hands and congratulate the victors.

In real life (like in a fight, or a war), all bets are off the table. What matters is that you destroy your enemy.

But, in sports, it's a game, it's entertainment. Sure, you should take it seriously, but, once the game ends, you need good sportsmanship. After all, athletes still get to go home to their mansions

He may be the youngest, but he also is well versed in Cup tradition so for him to say that while he shook some hands, he didn't realize that the captains hadn't passed through his line was wrong. he should have gone to them first.. they were standing there waiting for him but it was more important for him to grab the cup rather than to honor tradition.   Unfortuantly for him, this will be rememebered in years to come regardless of how long he continues to play or how many more Cup winning teams he is on. Tradition IS tradition.

It just goes to show that all high profile athletes whether they win or lose, shows this kind of bad sportsmanship.

LeBron and Crosby won't be the only ones.

It was definitely wrong.  Shaking hands not just show, as ppl have said, sportsmanship, but also show character and respect for the game.  I bet this incident will cause Crosby some $$$ because no sponsors want a player like this to be in their commercials.

Thanks Windbreaker, that was my point.  If you can only grow peach fuzz, just don't do it to embarass yourself.
