    Poll: Who is more Evil?

Who is the more evil of the two?

There has recently been discussion over which of these two terrible people is worse. which do you feel is worse? If you'd like to discuss why, see the thread "pentagon: some detainees..." in the politics forum.

    • Hitler (71.4%)
    • Osama Bin Laden (28.6%)
    • Total Votes: 28

I would have to say Osama Bin Laden, Hitler was evil but his days of reign were short. Now Osama Bin Laden, the groundhog, has influenced his actions using Islam, the one religion that is growing throughout Europe   like Starbucks. I think it is in Hamlet that Shakespeare said, “Mad Madness must not go unwatched…” I have to look it up if it is right.

Hitler ruled Germany for 12 years and killed more than 15,000,000 people. Bin Laden has been hiding in caves for equally as long and is responsible for somewhere in the neighborhood of 10,000 deaths.

The numbers don't lie Jewdakris.  While Bin Laden and his followers are evil people, there is no comparison to the Hitler regime.

People oftentimes have short memories or place heavier emphasis on what has affected them (or people more similar to them).  The terror of Hitler was long before most of us were alive and it happened on foreign soil.  In the minds of some people that makes his reign of terror seem less relevent.

    The numbers don't lie.

Jewdakris, I had to vote for Hitler because he killed so many people!

I would have to say Osama because he is still alive and Hitler's dead and no longer a threat.

doolittle, that wasnt really the intended question. is what hitler did more evil or less evil than what osama has done/is doing?

The reason why I chose Osama aside from what dolittle said above is because of religion. Don't get me wrong the numbers are high observing Hitler's rule, but the deaths world wide under the name of Islam are going to get a whole lot higher soon.

I think it should be understood that Hitler not only killed in the name of christ, but used christianity to gain power over germany and thus the people. Hitler used religion to kill the millions of jews, soviets, handicapped, gypsies, etc. some hitler quotes follow because clearly some here dont realize how he used christianity:

my feeling as a Christian points me to my Lord and Saviour as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to the fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as sufferer but as fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and of adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. Today, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before - the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice. And as a man I have the duty to see to it that human society does not suffer the same catastrophic collapse as did the civilization of the ancient world some two thousand years ago - a civilization which was driven to its ruin through this same Jewish people.

  • The National Government will regard it as its first and foremost duty to revive in the nation the spirit of unity and cooperation. It will preserve and defend those basic principles on which our nation has been built. It regards Christianity as the foundation of our national morality, and the family as the basis of national life.

  • We want honestly to earn the resurrection of our people through our industry, our perseverance, our will. We ask not of the Almighty 'Lord, make us free'!—we want to be active, to work, to agree together as brothers, to strive in rivalry with one another to bring about the hour when we can come before Him and when we may ask of Him: 'Lord, Thou seest that we have transformed ourselves, the German people is not longer the people of dishonour, of shame, of war within itself, of faintheartedness and little faith: no, Lord, the German people has become strong again in spirit, strong in will, strong in endurance, strong to bear all sacrifices.' 'Lord, we will not let Thee go: bless now our fight for our freedom; the fight we wage for our German people and Fatherland.' ** speech, May Day 1933

  • While we destroyed the Centre Party, we have not only brought thousands of priests back into the Church, but to millions of respectable people we have restored their faith in their religion and in their priests. The union of the Evangelical Church in a single Church for the whole Reich, the Concordat with the Catholic Church, these are but milestones on the road which leads to the establishment of a useful relation and a useful co operation between the Reich and the two Confessions.

Well done on your history part Jewdakris, but there is a big difference between using religion for ones gain (Hitler) and faith (Osama).

I think you're giving osama far too much credit. he is more like a cult leader, with a following, who rules by fear and has hijacked a religion, and in this case, Islam. osama's ideals are in no way whatsoever in line with those of modern Islam, just as the westboro baptist church's ideals are in no way aligned with modern christianity.

Osama is not a poster boy for Islam.  He has taken religion and skewed it to his own agenda.  Don't demonize the religion because of him. Osama is just a fanatic who has enough money to garner some support, albeit because he believes that he is fighting against evil.  Hitler, on the other hand was an egomaniac.  Remember he didn't just kill Jews.  He killed 4+ million other people.  Had he lived longer, who would he have picked on next???? I suspect, given free rein for long enough, he would have murdered everyone except himself, and then lamented that his life was so lonely.

Fanatics always have to find something to support their agenda.  Osama is not the poster boy for Islam.  Don't demonize the religion because of him.  He is just a wild extremist, who has enough money to garner up some support.  Although he has caused more than his share of violence, he is small stuff compared to Hitler.

Hitler killed more than just Jewish people.  He killed over 4 million others, and who knows where he would have stopped?  I suspect, if given free rein, he would have murdered everyone, and then lamented that his life was so lonely, when there was no one else to blame. A small time fanatical religious zealot like Osama, even though his crimes made a terrible and painful impact on our lives, doesn't reflect the kind of heinous evil of Hitler.

I think Hitler carried out more evil acts and ranks at the top of the list for worst people of all time. Osoma has never had nor ever will have the power that Hitler was able to obtain.

I don't think osama is done with his evil deeds yet, though.
