Wow really great pointers guys. I'm usually hovering at a decent rank with good companies I know well but trying to find those bursting points short term seems like a lot of work... and I love it. Sure beats playing solitaire.

I'm gonna play along in the background and see if I can keep up with you guys on chart analysis and prediticting proper stock movements. I'm sure a lot of other players can gain some good knowledge from you guys.

    Thanks again.

You don't need to play in the background Solid Spike.  I invite you to join the Monkeys and help me beat the Eagles.  Just pick three stocks you are comfortable with for tomorrow and I will include them.  Neither Rich nor I claim to be stock picking gurus, so I'm sure your picks will likely be as good as ours.  The goal is to share and to learn from each other.

    Good trading to you.

Barboni, would you like to join the Monkeys or the Eagles, or do you wish to represent a seperate team?

Markets were pretty rough today eh? We closed well off of those triple digit lows though..... I used the volatility to pick up a few names. JAKK didn't close as high as I thought it would , and COV and COIN were far from closing higher lol.

I'm reiterating JAKK for tomorrow and I'm putting RF up there too, I liked their performance in today's down tape. My last pick is ARE. There you have it.

JAKK, RF, and ARE for the Eagles.

Hey Rich, I think you gained a couple points on me today, but I still need to have our staff of independent auditors verify the results.

Tough day, but nice rally at the end.

    More later.

Hey Kelly I'm thinking all the participants of this game should represent individual teams unless we have enough people to even teams out. What do you think?

Re: Battle of the species - 3 picks - 1 day

Well, first we need to get other participants.  By using a team concept I thought it would provide a means for encouraging others, once thay are involved, to stay interested by working together as a team.  Also, if you look at how I am giving the points you'll note that the net for everyone equals zero (an equal number of positives and negative points).  So a team with one person can easily beat a multiple person team just by keeping their individual picks above the group average.  The games on this site are based on individuals, so I thought a team concept would be different.

I guess we'll leave it up to other participants who decide to join in.

If you have a strong preference, let me know.

For 6/04 I'm making one change from the previous picks:

    QSII

    WDC

    DRYS

Also, a couple of Fast Money Final Calls today were Merck and Celgene.  Two companies I like at this time.  (They did not show up on my screens today, so I'm not including them as a pick here).

I don't mind what team I'm on, as long as we get a good learning experience. Ok let's give this a shot. My picks for  06/04/09

    SOMX

    UEC

    ZGEN

UEC has been a good long term pick but I still think it will go up a bit more. Can this battle include ETF's?

Solid Spike, that would be great to have you participate.  To be included in a given day the picks need to be submitted before midnight, so the picks you mentioned above can be included in 6/5 or you can change your choices before midnight tonight.

    The picks included today are:

    Monkeys :  QSII, WDC, DRYS

    EAGLES :  JAKK, RF, ARE

    BARBONI :  MTL, MWE, NM

With nine total picks the points will be awarded as follows:  +4, +3, +2, +1, 0, -1, -2, -3, -4 based on 1 day return ranking..

Solid Spike - yes, ETFs would work just as well as stocks here.

Re: Battle of the species - 3 picks - 1 day

Hey you guys, I got a watchlist of the picks in contention today..... I have to admit, my picks were a bit premature, I continued working on my revised screening process through the night. I didn't get to sleep until 5 am this morning. lol crazy right. So far, I think I've found the formula for automating the identification of stocks near or at that inflection point where they would begin to take off..... I put in a trade on one of those picks of mine this morning (ARE) and it took off. I actually spotted this trade last week, but never put the trade on.  RF looks like it has a $4 floor, this was one of Mary622's picks from the 26th of May. Check out her posts, she has some great information. I think I have the link to her post on options that she shared back in may, I gave it 5 stars. It should be in my "Data Mining" Post. With some of the info that she has shared, I modified my own custom screen to include MACD(2,3,1) on my monthly and 60 minute charts as well as RSI(2). So far it seems pretty solid. I run a screen on stocks in the major indices throughout the day and I usually get about 5 to 15 stocks with a volume over 50k shares, from that list I run it through an price entry screen. Whatever symbols pop in to that watchlist, I select it and study 4 charts realtime (ticker, 60 minute, daily, and monthly to determine the trend and a possible entry price. Mary622's info seems really reliable, some of the most reliable info that I've seen anyone share. You should check out her posts if you want to learn how to become a better stock picker and trader. I'm not the best and I'm an advocate of always looking to improve my skills as well as helping others become better traders/investors. I hope this helps. Have fun and happy trading all!

I've fallen behind here and I need to end the week with a bang.  So here are three stocks that I think will move more than the market (up or down) on 6/05:

    GLBL

    NM

    ANR

I know NM was on Barboni's list for today, but it also showed up as a top pick on my screens this evening.  Coincidence?

If I picked DRYS would that be a coincidence?? Surprise I'm not gonna do that though, but I want to.

     TRST, CVBF, NAFC

Banks and retail into next week

Wow, I am doing better than the "monkeys --))

I guess nobody want to include me in their team today since I picked MWE who lost 6% today (so far), not because is a bad stock but because they decided to offer 2 million more shares to raise capital! I hate when this kind of stuff happens! I'll come later with my picks for tomorrow

P.S. I just realized I haven't pick anything for today. Too busy with trading with real money! Anyway, I decided to have my own league. Right now it's only me, but I welcome anybody else! Good luck for today! I am going to be on the sideline today!
