    potash and mosaic

On Friday the market was sure that these two names were oversold with their major link being potassium fertilizer used for corn and ethanol production.  Any company with potash exposure looks good, watch IPI as they did not respond to the run as well, and their forward PE is not much different to these two names.

2 of my favorite stocks to play, and when the market retests the lows, and probably break it, I'll pick up some more

in revisiting this post, now that the indices are somewhat near their lows (DOW being the closest), POT is nowhere close to its lows

hmmmmm...not really sure what to do

With respect to lows.  High volume day over 60 million traded, when stock breaks 93 that will be the new low.  Stock has upward trend and has in my opinion already bottomed.  Good luck and God Bless.

Had a nice gain overnight with a taste of POT but gave it all back by the end of day.

MOS treated me better today, have traded both these stocks in the past. Believe in both very long.

I think it is a great call as fertilizer will be able to increase prices in this environment with the application season coming up and a very low amount of fertilizer applied at the last plant they should see a draw down on inventories and when inflation rears its ugly head they will gain more momentum.

I started a position in POT sometime back and still haven't recovered from it. It seems like a quick mover(in either direction). Prior to all this turmoil this companies stock was a phenom.

All of the fertilizer companies look great, just another stock pushed down through fear of deflation.

My favorite short in this sector is COIN.

COIN has looked awful, great stock to trade.  Bounces all over the place.  SEED has looked a little rough too at times.

The rumor mills are churning with merger and takeover rumors, involving Mosaic {MOS}, Agrium {AGU], C.F. Industries Holdings {CF} and Terra Industries {TRA}.

This sector should see some action tomorrow.

Friday's call options were heavy on many of these names.  Should be interesting.

    HEADS UP POTASH PLAYERS

The Russian potash miner in Uralkali has lowered the price of potash they sell by 25%.

The reaction  by MOS, POT, IPI is worth noting today. In my opinion this does not negate the potential of this sector but rather just puts up a new price to play the game.
