This makes no sense because Vista has had a lot of problems compared to XP.......Vista is not compatible on quite a few computer types, and have had NUMEROUS problems.......Microsoft is essentially dooming themleves by this foolish move.......Vista has been shown to be a big failure in 2007, and not very popular with the computer consumer, unfortunately, including running programs on the computer with Windows Vista as the operating platform.
Dewdrinkrt78 expressed this perfectly when he said "why would they do away with XP when there are so many complaints about Vista?"
I fully agree, and why would they? Vista has so many problems that any future computer that I get, I would ONLY put XP on it.......I feel that Windows XP has not had enough exposure to the American consumer and that its life is getting cut short.......it should be used for another 2-3 years, in my opinion, while the bugs in Vista get worked out, and a newer version of Vista comes out that will not have as many bugs as the version that is out now. This is the better solution to do, but Microsoft, for the sake of remaining a profitable company, would not do.
Microsoft is making a very stupid move, as I have already mentioned, which they will end up regretting down the road......this is a bad business decision that will cost them a lot of money. If Vista ends up being a very bad product for 2008 as well, they should rethink Vista and being back XP for the time being, and make better versions of Windows XP until they can get a good verision of Vista working, which will not cause as many headaches as it previously did. If I was in Microsoft's shoes, I would not phase out XP until it has become certain that Vista is usable and has all of the bugs fixed. I hope Microsoft seriosuly backtracks from this foolish move, or else they will end up suffering the consequences of their dumb move, and have no one else but themselves to blame for the mess that they have made in the end.
