My theory is that it's play money.  So even if you lose it's not painful.

Can anyone tell me what the purpose of the permanent portfolio is?

I have traded today for the first time with the 50,000 contest portfolio, hopefully I can gain quickly since I just joined this contest.

I can honestly say this is the most interesting game I have played in a long time. You meet new people and learn something about the stock market you would otherwise never find out in the real world.

New concept.               I have it now. We are just like England now. We have a central bank which is called the Fed. Our President  is like the Queen. Congress is the CEO'S AND CFO'S. The IRS and social security is the money taker. "The U.S. Federal Reserve announced Friday it will have an auction."  So that means the Federal Reserve is the Loan Officer.  We the people are the share holders in a 2 tier system where the gov. gets  2 votes to our  1/2.   Yep I got it now. ECH...............Do we need a 1776 all over again with our own country again? I am buying Gld

By Madlen Read, AP Business Writer

Ambac Discussions With Banks and Regulators About Raising Cash Appear to Be Progressing
NEW YORK (AP) -- A plan to bail out the struggling bond insurer Ambac Financial Group Inc. could be announced Monday or Tuesday, CNBC reported Friday, citing bankers working on the deal.

There is a consortium of banks -- including Citigroup Inc., UBS AG, Wachovia Corp. and Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC -- working with the New York State Insurance Department on a possible solution to the Ambac's problems, a person familiar with the discussions told The Associated Press.

Read the charts on MON and CMP

MON is in demand for agri-business big time..

CMP had blowout earnings and salt & phosphates are in agri-business demand.

TROW is a buy @ 48/49 sell @ 52/53 ---I been trading this one for over a year up and down.

ALD is a buy @ below 20 and a good dividend play for holding..

What are you seeing that I'm not???

I herd the central bank speek today and one of the things I picked up on was in his round about way he wanted to open more accounts to help the banks. To me in my humble oppion is that is a real danger signal. The banks are secured by who?  the bankrupt gov? I'm going to buy into the stores. safeway and kroger. People allways need food.
