your profits/loss show in the profit/loss column.now for answers on your other questions which you'll most likely get some diverse answers.I watch my stocks and read financial news about them and the markets in general and when i see a stock or sector getting rangebound(flat) i get out.there is no set time frame for selling .it could be 1 hour to years.the best is to set a stop somewhere around 10% down especially if you cant stay on top of the markets moves daily.as far as how many shares to trade also depends on your own strategy.there are players who max out their 25% in a stock, there are players who only invest 10K in each stock.dive in and if all else fails you can always hit the reset.Good luck

I look for trends and momentum, for example, during Flu season I look for biotechs companies that research H1N1 vaccines.  Also right now Obamas health care reform and alternative green energy stimulus programs can boost small companies in these sectors.
