I guess that explains his fascination with Ron Paul and all the time he spends with the ronpaulians (Ron, Paul and Ian). Well, the cat's out of the bag and the dog is now out of the closet. Speaking of which, where is surveybeck? Your turn. Come out, come out wherever you are.

Jewdakris -  GCMan, with all due respect, when you were in elementary school, people thought hiding under desks would save them from a nuclear bomb.

I agree it was rubbish just like global warming.

Goldiec -  GCMAn, I know it's off topic but is it true there is no Mayan calendar?  Just wondering?

There is no Mayan Calendar as it is being described by the end of the world folks.  Let me ask you this. can you tell me when doomsday mayan calendar starts meaning the date or the year that starts that calendar?   I will wait for your answer and then we can discuss a little more.

LOL, the picture is so small that it is difficult to identify them ... I always thought it was just a picture of you and your boyfriend.

GM, I don't have an answer for you because I have no idea.  If this is a mistruth how did it get started I wonder?

GCMan, I don't have an answer for you because I have no idea.  If this is a mistruth how did it get started I wonder? From what I've researched the Mayans had three different ways of knowing dates.  They were called the Long Count, Tzolkin and Haab but they didn't believe the year was 365 days.  They had different numbers so I wonder who would decipher all of this.  I know it's not me.

Godiec - See are are already learning that there are many ways of interpreting the calendar and there are many scientist who disagree in when the calendar ends some say it ended in 1950 some say 2012 still others say 2050.  By its linear nature, the Long Count was capable of being extended to refer to any date far into the future (or past). This calendar involved the use of a positional rotation system, in which each position signified an increasing miltiple of the number of days. This is the reason why I asked when the calendar started. The  Long Count, is based upon the number of elapsed days since a mythological starting-point. According to the correlation between the Long Count and Western calendars accepted by the great majority of Maya researchers (known as the GMT correlation), this starting-point is equivalent to August 11, 3114 B.

The key of course is that is a mythological starting-point and that the Long Count was capable of being extended to refer to any date far into the future (or past). So to come up with a conclusive end date is impossible but until 2013 there will be many people who will make lots of money seeling the idea that the end is coming then it will ost likely switch to the 2050 date where in 2045 people will start making money again on the mythological end date.

GCMan, from what you've said and what I have researched you are so right!  No one should put stock in the 2012 date because it means nothing.  If there is another way to look at it then I would hope people would come forward and give us information on the facts as they know them. Thanks for pointing all of this out to me.  I'm always glad to learn something new.

Well, the difference is that my photo is up close, and yours is not.  I never paid much attention to your picture because I thought it was two gay guys.

you know, i could see how someone could make such a mistake. in the homophobic world conservatives live in, a man touching another man in any way/shape or form is gay, unless they are groping eachother wrestling or showering together after a football game. i guess looks are deceiving magoo, afterall, the two "gay guys" in the picture are a couple of the straightest dudes out there. though your utter disregard for detail and baseless assumption sure do explain all your ludicrous conspiracy theories and off the wall anarchist views.

This is a serious question.  I thought Mick Jagger and David Bowie had a fling back in the day or was that just Hollywood rumor?

I am neither homophobic or a "conservative" ... take that and shove it up your baseless ASSumptions.
