    holiday energy

with the up-coming hoiliday and winter season i would imagine, just from driving down any residental street, that energy prices nation wide should go up right? i mean it seems over the years that no matter what state the economy is in people will still hang up sting after string of christmas lights and glowing ho ho ho-ing santa's for weeks straight 24 hours a day ( and of course that one guy on the block that insits on illuminating the enitre town with his blinding display of hoiliday cheer). i mean that alone, to me, would double the electrical bill along with people pushing up their thermostats when the tempature drops $$$ right? it seems that the majority of people this year will cut back on presents and over-all consumer spending trying to save money in this economic poop farm, but will we cut back on the electrical holiday cheer? with all these energy companies, which ones make $$$ off of the people who make sure that everybody can see their illuminated hoiliday spirit regardless of the price. i WOULD think that the majority of america would cut back on the obivious. then again the jeff dunam show premire was the most watched tv program in comedy central history....so who knows anymore

Way too early for putting up Christmas decorating.  I would think most people would be using the new solar led lights.  They do not cost extra on bills.  The only price is the original purchase cost.

Coast, that's really a good point you mention about the solar led lights!  If they save on electricity we should all use them.  We put our lights up after Thanksgiving.

solar christmas lights! awesome idea. im thinking thats goin be a high seller this year. now just to find the top company producing these ingenius babies. i would imagine the stock to be hella low at this point cause it aint even thanks giving yet but i predict energy saving ideas like this are about to explode on the consumer market this hoilday season. does any body elese know of any other alternitive energy sources/products being sold to consumers through large retailers like wall-mart or costco?

A 23' string of 50 multicolor flashing solar led lights sells for $19 at Amazon. That's a fairly short string for anything other than wrapping around a window frame.

I agree, that's pretty pricey for a set of lights.  I'm sure that there will be deals coming up soon especially around Thanksgiving this month.
