Well it has come to this.....

What did I do wrong?? Start a confrontation??? Yeah right. I guess I'll just agree with everything posted.

Soooo any way, the market appears to be mixed, Dow down and Nasdaq up. Golds up, oil down as of this writing!  Do you think the market over all is concerned about the dollar?

Yes,  Surveybob, your post was directed to Kellybrowns and it was very sarcastic, and was meant to goad him into a confrontation with you.

Instead of saying anything publicy, because it was not serious enough to warrant a warning, and was just in bad taste I chose to delete it, and ask you privately to be a touch more considerate and less confrontational in your posts.

But since you prefer it to be public, I will ask you publicly to please be just a little bit less sarcastic when you make a post to someone that you do not like.

Your post is below Surveybob, and this was in reply to a post from Kellyb just simply explaining that someone else brought Hitler into a converstion and nothing more.

I am your new target. Call me surveymagoo. LOL Or SM. LOL Come on Kellyb, compain loudly! Oh shoot, you can do better than that, can't you? LOL

I am a 15 year old in detention, in the Missoure prison system. But i have strong ideas. Just ask my baby!

Benhillo I think the dollar has a lot to do with it.

LOL BJ. I didn't save the post, and I can't remember exactly what was in it. I do know, however, that you are no psychiatrist. And even if you were, any psychiatrist would need to ask a few questions to determine some one's intent.

Also you have now, somehow, determined that I do not like KellyBrown. Where do you come up with this stuff?? I do not even know him/her. We've never met. But I am glad you know, so I guess if you say I don't like KellyBrown, I will just take have to take your word for it.

The forums have become officially a serious turn-off. This constant policing, deleted posts, locked posts are lessening my interest in the game overall. I am signing on maybe once or twice a week compared to everyday when it was fun. I guess all good things eventually come to an end. This Wind may move in another direction soon.

the turn off for me was all the whining and crying over the rules by the biggest offenders. as long as the rules (which have been in place for months) are enforced and policed in a non-biased and consistent manner, there is nothing to complain about. the WSS admins have chosen etiquette over childish antics. so be nice and discuss, or name call and abuse people elsewhere. but i guess you're right, a forum without name calling and insulting posting is quite a turn off, where oh where is the fun in that!? see ya on the other side windbreaker.

"Yes, Surveybob, your post was directed to Kellybrowns and it was very sarcastic, and was meant to goad him into a confrontation with you. " So we've gone from "name calling" to :sarcastic" to "goading" and no ones sees a slippery slope.

What you don't seem to understand is that although some members may enjoy the back and forth vitriol and sarcasm between members there are more people that do not enjoy it and find it very offputting.

There are more people would just like to be able to contribute without being attacked or derided or have sarcastic remarks directed to them for joining in the discussions, and these people do not speak out, but instead send in complaints and ask for assistance.

It certainly does not mean you can not speak your minds about your views on political issues, on Obama, on socialism, on facism, on conservatism or whatever, it simply means that cooperation is needed in order to keep the unpleasant comments between members to a minimum so that the community can grow instead of running people off.

It is not in the best interests of WSS for new members to be run-off because someone was unpleasant to them for expressing thier opinion or ideals about a subject, or because there is constant back and forth accusations between members.

All I am asking is for older members to make a small effort to keep the sarcasm and unpleasant remarks directed to members, and that does include me, since I also am and have been an active member in contributing on the forums for well over a year to a minimum, and instead focus it on the issues so that the forums will be more welcoming for new members.

That is not a lot to ask

Barb, will it still be okay to talk about Chemtrails and if so what forum would we use?  The reason I'm asking is because I have a question about them.  Will there be a forum for controversial topics?  Just wondering?

Re: Well it has come to this.....

Of course there is nothing wrong with talking about chemtrails, mousepads (LOL)  or any other subject that anyone cares to introduce, the goal here is to encourage discussion on subjects and variety is welcome on the proper forums. The chemtrail thread is still on here somewhere Goldiec, and if you find it, and it is not on the Daily Politics thread just copy the first article and start a thread for discussion there. We just can't let people call each other names or diss each other because they disagree about chemtrails.

We just need to keep unpleasant remarks between members to a minimum as much as possible  when they disagree about the subject that is introduced or with each other.

There was some confusion in the past when threads were locked because they did not relate to stocks, but that was due to a misunderstanding of the rules, and I had nothing to do with that.

And I can promise you I will not be locking threads, but we do need to keep them on the proper forums so that people who are only interested in the market and stocks can enjoy their threads without have to sift thru various topics.

Games, fun stuff, unrelated to stocks are welcome, but should be directed to the Funny Money forum so that those only interested in stock and market discussions have forums that are just for that.

As for a forum for controversial issues that is already in place, and it is the Daily Politics thread, because by nature politics is a controversial issue.

Put it this way, when in doubt where a subject should be introduced just put it on the Daily Politics Forum and it will be fine, or if it is just fun stuff you can put it on the Funny Money forum if you prefer. It wouldn't hurt to have some fun stuff on the Daily Politics Forum either that is for sure.

All the rest of the forums should be kept as much as possible to just stock and market talk.

Thanks Barb, I appreciate you answering my question.  I will try to find the chemtrails and put it on the Daily Politics Forum.  If anyone's interested I saw something of interest and I'm going over to the Daily Politics to explain it.  I know it's a controversial subject but I do find it very interesting.

Your welcome Goldiec, and if you don't find it I will take a look and see if I can find it and post it.  Just let me know.

There is nothing wrong with controversial subjects, they can be very interesting and result in some lively and entertaining debates.

All we want to do is keep the bickering between members to a minimum so that everyone can participate and not be run-off for fear of being attacked or because a thread turns into a bickering brawl.

I would even try just starting a bickering thread if only people who enjoy going at it back and forth would just stick to that thread so that on other threads there would actually be a chance for people to discuss the subject that was introduced.
