    Brady is B-A-A-A-A-A-A-C-K

Being a Patriot's fan, their performance the other night was very uneven and somewhat disappointing. They need to improve what looked like a defense against the Bills, to make and advance in the playoffs. They did come up big when it counted.  Tom Brady did not skip a beat. Granted , he was a little rusty initially. When the chips were on the line however, he performed as if he never left. He truly is a quarterback for the ages. He has modesty to go along with it, rare in this age of prima donna athletes.

It goes to show that a superstar like Tom Brady can take his team on his back and lead them to victory.  Down 11 points with 3 minutes to go.  No problem, just throw a TD and let the Patriots defense take over (and a miscue by the Bills returner).  And then throw another TD.

Good win by the Pats and great return for Brady.  And for the Buffalo fans, it's only one game and still early in the season.  Too bad T.O. didn't do much.  Maybe in game 2.

Hey there irishgreek. I was a bit worried about Brady at first, but was very happy to see him get back in a groove, so to speak. (I have him in a fantasy league)

But still, Buff gave them the game at the end. (OK, before you call me on the carpet, I know, it's not over til' it's over)

Brady looked good; but the Bills played stupid and/or scared

there's a reason why the Pats have won Super Bowls, and the Bills have not.

    winners win

    losers lose

bills gave up 2 TDs in less than 2 minutes

    enough said

podsock, I only saw part of the game, but it looked like they had the game until the end. Did they really play bad before the last few minutes.

The Pat's offense threw way too much.  Brady with over 50 attempts.  Bill B being Bill B.  What a liar.  I was expecting a more balanced offense with a healhy Moreny and the addition of Taylor.

There was the Brady and Moss show, but without the Moss TDs.  At least Moss had the yardage.

I feel bad for the running backs, unless they get most of the pass attempts thrown at them.

But Brady is back for sure.

I do feel bad for the RBs as well.  RBs don't get paid because they're WRs, but because of their ability to carry a handoff.  Catching ability is a bonus, but not the primary objective.  Besides, Brady only throws passes to the ageless Faulk.

and we can't forget Ben Watson who now has two more TDs than Moss and over half of the players in the league.  Ben is on pace to break the single season record for TDs, and he's a TE Smile

I agree surveybob, Trent Edwards played a good game, and New England's defense looked very ordinary most of the game. They will need a much better effort than that on the road against the Jets. Mayo being out only adds to the concerns. They better try and sign Derrick Brooks (just signed with ESPN) too add a little depth. They have none right now. Brooks mentioned the other day that a couple of teams had shown interest. I know for a fact, the Pats are one of them.

New England's offense usually takes what the other team's defense gives them. I'm sure that we will see some significant rushing yards in the weeks ahead, depending on the strengths of that particular team. New England may be better on the short pass underneath to Faulk, Welker, etc. than any team in the NFL. I look for the new guy from Kent State (Edelman) to participate in this as well. They had ten rookies make their 53 man NFL roster. I think two others are on injured reserve.

I think most teams take what the other teams give them.  But the problem is, I think based on this 1st game the Pats' offense resembled the magical 16-0 offense way too much.  Passes to Faulk and Welker are like extended handoffs to them.

irishgreek, you sure were right about Edelman. Led them in catches. Glad Brady didn't get hurt. Jets D looks real good.

I agree Bob, I have to give it to the Jets defense , even though they are my least favorite team in the NFL. They were masterful in the second half. New England played a pretty good first half , but could not deliver the knock out blow only getting nine points. When thet got the ball on a fumble at the 15 yard line and had to settle for three points, that was a particularly bad omen. Edelman is a spunky guy, being a seventh round draft pick. I look forward to seeing him in the future. The Pats next two games are at home, but against very tough opponents, Atlanta and Baltimore. Thet both feature two of the bright young QB'S in the NFL, Ryan and Flacco, along with having good defensive squads.

The Atlanta game is gonna be crucial for NE.  Like Jerome Bettis said, it's show time.  NE has to prove its old dominance, while the Falcons need to prove that they're legit.  I expect the Pats to come out on top.  Brady is just too savvy,

Tom Brady has been on the field for 21 offensive possessions this young season. With the exception of his heroic two series in the last six minutes of the win over Buffalo, the other 19 have resulted in no touchdown passes, two interceptions and a 64.2 passer rating.

Yes Mwooster, do I ever know. I could have picked Brees, but took Brady instead. Hoped he would get back to his old ways, especially with their revamped defense. (thought they might have to score a lot)

You could not really blame Brady in the Jets game though.  It was in NY, a tough environment.  Revis THE CB basically shut down Moss (4 grabs, 24 yards?  please) single handedly with ease.  He did the same to Andre Johnson, so it was no fluke.  Welker was out as well.  If Welker were there, it would be better to counter all the exotic blitzes Ryan brought.

I don't know of a better corner than Revis. Maybe Woodson is close.

Woodson is way past his prime, so he's no where near Revis's league.  Yes, he's still a good corner, but not in the elite class.  Some great corners in the game right now are Revis, Clement, McKelvin, Cromartie (if last yr was a fluke), and Samuel.
