Although this is not a World Series that people want to have, it's a World Series that will be watched by millions.  And why not?  New York and Philadelphia.  A-Roid and Ryan Howard.  Jeter and Utley.   CC and Cliff Lee.  Riveria and Lidge.  Matsui and Werth.  Peanut Butter and Jam.  It's a million dollar event and I like to see lots of HRs.  Either A-Roid will get his first WS ring, or the Phillies will win back to back, just like the Jays did back in the early 90s.

Good baseball that I will be watching.

I will peek in every now and then while I wait for commercials to end on other shows I'll be watching.

Unless, the Phillies are winning, I won't watch much of the World Series. I detest the Yankees

Man, Cliff Lee, phew, what a game.  The Yanks totally got dominated by this left hander.  A Rod 0-4 with 3 pretty Ks against this guy.  Tex again was a non factor.  Now the Phillies have the chance to finish the Yanks off at home... I really think the Yankees will win game 2 tonight.

After that Matsui home run, it's looking as if the Yankees will take this one.  Must get to the ninth inning so that Mariano can get that save.

I only watched a few innings of the first 2 games...

am happy to see Phillies take a game, and even happier to see A-rod and his 6 K's in 2 games.

Although A-Roid was awesome against the Angels, he's really struggling against the Phillies.  And using the word struggling is being kind.

So far it's no sweeps, which is good.  Take it to 7 games and may the best team win.

Can't wait for the battle of 2 top left handers tonight.  I think Pettite will come out on top.  That guy knows how to win while Hamels is struggling like crazy.  What a stark contrast from a yr ago.

Pettite did come out on top with a win, but both starters were ugly.  Ryan Howard needs to find out what A-Roid is taking as 3 more strikeouts last night was also ugly.  Good to see Jayson Werth continue hitting those homers.  If only the guys batting in front of Werth can get on base, the game would have been closer and possibily leading to a Phillies win.

Hopefully game 4 will end up with a Phillies win.

Cole Hamels is really finished.  Why did he throw a first pitch curve ball at Pettite during that crucial at bat?  He should have pounded fastballs inside with one out and a runner on second.  You just can't let a pitcher have a slow pitch up in the zone like tht.

Werth is def a late boomer.  One of the mightiest R-handed hitting OFs.  Yankees Lefties have neutralized Howard very well.  Blaton has almost no chance against them Yanks in Game 4.  Sigh.

The game was close, and I couldn't believe those two stolen bases by Damon.  Wow.  And A-Rod (gotta give him props so no more A-Roid) came through again.

It appears that the Yankees are in great position to take the next game and win the World Series.

Like I said, throwing Blaton out there is just not gonna get the job done.

Brad Lidge and the Phillies were one strike away from evening the series at 2-2, but, wow, Damon, what an at bat.  He barely got a piece of tht nasty slider,  Then the 2-2 fastball was def on the outside corner.  The fact tht he was on 3rd base made him not throw his bread and butter pitch the slider anymore,  which made Arod and Posada so dangerous.

am glad to see the Phillies win...

at least it prevents the Yankees from winning the title, even if it seems inevitable the Yankees will win

I'm also glad that the Phillies won.  Utley, another two homers.  Great player.  Now if only Ryan Howard can find that home run stroke.  Hoping the Phillies win the next game and force a game 7.

The amazing part is, Utley, being a lefty swinging 2nd baseman, has homered off of CC 3 times now in the world series.  The other came against Phil Coke, another lefty.  He's really smashing lefties!

Howard, on the other hand, has like 2 hits in 15 at bats against lefties.

If Utley had to face CC every game, he would have close to over 200 home runs.

And what's with the Myers and Hamels act.  Now's not the time for this type of distraction.

Game 6 should be exciting tonight.

I really hope the Phillies can send it to the seventh game, but this matchup has not excited me. Two great teams , but I have a rooting interest in neither.

Congrats to the Yankees and the Yankees fans (don't want to be a sore loser like Lebron in last year's NBA playoffs, when he walked off the court without shaking anyone's hands, lol)

here's hoping they don't repeat next year

As long as the Yankees can keep their core players, it's more likely that they will be back in the World Series finals.  Winning is another story as in the case with the Phillies.

Let's see who else the Yankees can pick up in this off season.
