Baseball lasts way too long. Pretty soon they will be playing on Thanksgiving.

It's ridiculous that they now can get by with 3 SPs.  It's just not right.

The Phillies are in the World Series again.  If the Yankees can win one more game, it will be what many have expected.  A Philadelphia vs New York final.

I'm looking forward in seeing if A-Roid can win his first World Series.

boy, Dodgers didn't put up much of a fight, eh? oh, well.....

I hope the Angels put up more of a struggle tonight.

Can't stand the thought of Yankees with another World Series chance

Tired of the Yankees here as well.

I'm actually glad the Yanks are back in the playoffs chase.  It's just like Rafa Nadal.  I hate him to death because he beats Federer but w.o him tennis is just not the same.  When the Yanks didn't make it last yr, I was kinda sad at the lack of suspense that occur in Yanks' games.  Right now the Angles are riding on Lackey's R arm big time.  AJ is falling apart in big spots... sigh,

The Angels won to play another day.  It's good to see a team not get swept or lose 4 games to 1.  Maybe this will go the full 7 games.  My thinking is that the Yankees will take the next game and meet the Phillies in the World Series.  But still a great win for the Angels.

The Angels are still alive, thank goodness. A Yankees-Phils World Series for me has the attraction of a bucket of warm spit.

Irishgreek - I am with you there.

I can't stand the idea that A-Rod could get a World Series ring, not to mention the Yankees and their $250M+ team annual salary buying the ring!

If the Yankees do advance, I'm rooting for the Phillies

I'm actually rooting for the Yanks somewhat.  I hate seeing a team going back to back.

If it's Yanks-Phils I will watch it as much as I am capable of, but will be none of the above for my choice. I will pull for the Angels if they manage to somehow get in. I really like Lackey and Saunders, and several other players they have. How can you not pull for a guy batting .200 in the regular season, Jeff Mathis, that is hitting like an all-star in the playoffs.

There's no doubt the if a team has money, you can afford and pay players to help win the World Series.

Unfortunately, Philadelphia Phillies fans will need to enjoy it now, as once guys like Howard, Lee, Utley, Werth, Hamels, Lidge become free agents, there's no way Philadelphia can pay all these guys.

New York has the money to keep buying players which is why they will be contenders for a while.  Boston tried to keep up, but couldn't afford to get the players that the Yankees were getting.  Hence, bye Manny, and bye bye chances of a World Series.  Sure it was Manny's attitude, but they just couldn't come up with the money to keep him.

Yankees should take this game, and the World Series.  I guess spending all that money on Burnett, and CC really could lead to a World Series.  I hope not, as I personally want to see Philadelphia win.

You're right to some extent, Stan, about buying WS rings with CC and Burnett.  Burnett has done much for the Yanks.  He's doing just as much as CM Wang did, who was a way cheaper option with 2 19-win seasons.  Burnett cost 82 mil, so he's not rly an upgrade.

CC is def the key this yr.  3 big playoff wins, which all set the tone for the rest of the rotation.  Some key components such as ARod, Jeter, and Damon were all here before, and they're performing superbly.  Swisher has had a terrible ALCS, hope he busts out of his slump.

Saunders has not been looking good in the postseason.  Or it's prbly just becasue the Yanks smash lefties.  Mathis is perhaps one of the best backups in the game at catcher, right up there with Molina and Shoppach.

Joe Saunders did a decent job vs. the Yankees in game 2, and the Angels would've won in extra innings had Fuentes not given up an A-rod homer with 2 outs, and an 0-2 count.

I am hoping Saunders can hold the Yankees to 2 runs in roughly 7 innings, as I think the Angels have a great chance to get to game 7 and a 3rd shot at CC

The Angels def caught a break wiht the rain delay.  This gives them more options besides Kazmir for game 7 if they can win tonight.

Saunders better come through, but lefties in Yankeen Stadium have not been sharp at all.

     Mwooster - you are right.

Saunders did not come through at all.

Angels gave him a 1-0 lead, and he promptly gave the lead up in the next inning.

Angels gave it what they had, but Yankees were just better.

Angels now need to let Figgins go. He's definitely NOT a $10+M a year player. Absolutely a failure in the playoffs since 2002.

Figgins would be an excellent addition to losing teams such as the Orioles who never get to the playoffs.  Imagine batting him first, then  Roberts the Doubles machine second.  Sick @$$ offense.

What was amazing about Saunders was that he pitched 83 pitches in 4 innings, and only, yes, ONLY ONE was swung on and missed by a Yank.  That's how bad he was.  5 BBs and no Ks.  What a game, to go along with 7 hits.  7 + 5 = 12

12/4 = 3 WHIP.  Damn.  Yanks do smash lefties.

When you have two power houses going head to head, that's not interesting?  When 2 premier sluggers in Arod and Howard are on fire, that's not fun to watch?  When 2 lefthanded ace pitchers goign head to head for possibly 3 starts, that would be fun to watch as well.
