    Dye deserves all star nod

Jermaine Dye deserves to be on the A.L. squad with the numbers he put up. He should replace Josh Hamilton who just came back off the DL but has been hurt a good bit of the year.

     I voted for Chone Figgins

but, then again, I am an Angels fan.

Figgins - good lead-off hitter, amongst the leaders in BA, hits, stolen bases. Can play 3B, SS, 2B, and the outfield positions.

The biggest knock against Figgins is that once the playoffs start, he folds like a cheap suit. Much like A-Rod, lol

I love the Hamilton story from last yr and all, but this yr he has been absolutely a non-factor.  He is def not an all-star this yr.  Yes, Dye has been in the heart of the order all yr for the Sox.

That's the problem with the All-Star voting.  Sure the fans vote for their favourites, but does a fan favourite deserve the All-Star spot over a player that has had a better overall first half-season?  Of course not, but that's what happens every year.  Dye may still get in if someone is injured or decides not to play.

Stan - you pose good questions.

These athletes get paid such good salaries, even the minimum wage is eye-popping, that if they don't make the All-Star game, the salaries will more than help them deal with the setback, lol

True that, but the thing is more than about money and salary.  It's about justice and future endorsement opportunities.
