I watched this young girl come through the preliminaries and finished well ahead of everyone in her event the 100 meter hurdles. She caught the last hurdle and did not medal despite being the heavy favorite. Her story is quite moving and this was an unfortunate mishap. My heart goes out to her. Although Nastia and Shawn didnt grab gold in all the events they participated in, they are coming home with several medals each. Jones's story is a real heartbreak, as this was her only opportunity.

 she said she is going to try for the 2012 in london, the us still won the gold in this event, and a friend of mine finished fourth. i'm very proud of all of the athletes for just getting where they are. you can read what she said here

I hope 2012 is not too late. I just read last night that Lolo is 26. 30 at the London Games is going to be a real challenge. Congrats to USA for all the effort and hope the athletes know that many Americans are proud of their accomplishments.

 Damu Cherry is 29 so as long as she stays on top of herself she will make it again, she sounded determined so i bet she makes it again.
