ESPN.com and foxsports.com are reporting that Brett Favre was traded to the Jets. The Jets send a draft pick to Green Bay for the future Hall of Fame quarterback, who severed ties with the Packers on Tuesday.

 Brett is a good quarterback, but i think he has some severe emotional problems and the inability to make a decision. I would have rather seen him go to Minnisota or Chicago.

No way they were trading him to a divisional rival. Brett does not have emotional problems. He just wants to still play. I think he will do quite well in NY. I fully expect some major rumblings in Green Bay by mid October when they lose a few games and Brett is winning with the Jets.

Good for the Jets. They weren't competitive with NE with Pennington at QB. Now the games with the Pats will be worth watching.

Kellen Clemens gets time to develop and may be ready to step in by 2010 when Brett's contract is up.

If anyone's got emotional problems, it's Thompson and McCarty. When Favre pulled an MJ on them and unretired, they went completely ballistic. The trade to the Jets is for a 4th round draft pick, not for a player (as the trade to Tampa Bay was rumored to have been. Seems the Packer brass was so afraid of ever having to face Favre on the field that they dealt him out of the NFC for pocket change. Interesting that the trade mandates THREE 1st round draft picks if the Jets trade Favre to a team in Green Bay's division.

Brett will be missed here in Wisconsin. I sure hope he has a plan when he retires again.

I always admired Brett Favre as one of the best quarterbacks ever. I thought his retirement speech was one of the most heartfelt I've ever heard.. Brett changed his mind. Can't blame him for that. His original retirement speech lost all it's lustre. The Packers became accomplices by trying to pay him to stay retired. The Jets now have him. Maybe that is where he deserves to be. There are no winners here. Possibly the Jets, but I doubt it.
