    MANNY BEING MANNY

Manny picked a bad time to decide he may like to play elsewhere, in the midst of a pennant race. Not saying it will actually hurt the Red Sox. The Yankees were famous decades ago of playing better years ago with controversy swirling around them. Maybe the Bosox will too. One thing is for sure, Manny is a great player, but he's a ME,ME,ME, player. That usually can hurt a team. We will see how it plays out.

I dont see the Red Sox trading him this season they need him.  More likely he'll become a free agent this off season and the Mets will pick him up (hopefully) :)

you see a lot of that these days from players in just about every sport.  they don't really care necessarily whether the team wins or lose, as long as their pocket book is getting fatter and fatter.

if i had a choice of making $10 million playing with a great team, or $12 million with a team full of bums, i'd take the first option.  Obviously as that point you can do without an extra $2 million a year, although that is a huge chunk of change.

But, I know myself, I would get sick of losing if i played on a junk team....i'd rather earn less and win some games.

on pardon the interruption today the said that the red sox can not win without manny. i would agree with that statement. manny is not going anywhere. management will put up with a player who hits 30-40 home runs and drives in 150 rbi every year

Peter I think you are probably right, they have to find a trade partner and get something of equal value. There could be possibly a three way trade. The Braves are also looking to trade Texiera since they are going down the toilet. Not saying these two will be part of the same trade.

With Church coming back (hopefully) and Alou out for the season the Mets need a left fielder.  Tatis has been hot this month but hed be better utilizwed as a back up in my opinion.  He hasnt played in a few years I dont want to see him get burned out in September.

It hasn't happened yet, but I mentioned the possibility of a three way trade a few days ago involving Manny. It is currently being discussed. I think after his comment today about loving the fans but the organization not deserving him, he's gone. I have always found the man arrogant. I think this proves my point.

money is going to be the issue. manny makes almost as much as the current payroll of the entire marlins team. unless boston coughs up part of manny's salary he won't go to florida.

I agree I have never liked Mannys attitude but he is a great weapon for any team, just like Barry Bonds he was a nuisance but I would have loved him on my team.  I dont know if Endy has ever played this much in the Majors hes definately getting his chance this year to show what he can do.  Ill always remeber him for that awesome catch he made in the 2006 NLCS against the Cards.  Quite possibly the greatest catch in Mets history.

Even though he is a great player, I don't like the bad vibes and attitude he brings with him. I wouldn't want him.
