    Best low $$$ broker

So I won $75! (looks like i may not recive it for a few months but oh well) I want to invest that $75 for reals. I am wondering what would be a good broker with low commisions and low minimum accounts. Most brokers charge about $10 or over per trade or need $500 to start. I know i'm not going to make any real big money, i just want to learn more about real stock trading ect. Anybody know a good low $$$ broker to suit my needs?

use Sogotrade.com.  $1.50 trade if you get the premium package for $10 a month, or $3.50 per trade with no monthly fee.

I want to start real trading too.  Nice question-and answers. Can you buy foreign stocks on these?  And do they allow short term, or do you have to wait a certain period before cashing out?

JessieDee7, if you plan on making a lot of trades, go with a broker with lower fees. Sharebuilder can eat away at profits at $10 a trade. If you are going to 'buy and hold' with few trades, then I'd go with Sharebuilder to start with, since they have no minimum account balance.

IMO investing 75$ is a waste of time... you would save yourself a lot of frustration by going to the casino and betting on black. If you want to learn then paper trade or trade a portfolio here.

I would take that 75 bucks and open a savings account just for future investing and add to it weekly or monthly until you hit 500 bucks.

Then I would buy a 500 dollar CD and borrow against it and invest the proceeds into an account stock acct like at scottrade and pay the monty payments to pay off the loan against your CD.

At the end of the payoff of the CD you'll still have you 500 dollars in a CD earning interest and 500 dollars plus or minus in your stock acct.

This is the way I invest, because it makes me save and at the same time gives me the funds to invest.

You can keep borrowing against the CD and invest the proceeds into stocks and grow your investment portfoilo.
