Been involved for a while and probably in the same boat. The best tip I know is to due your homework. Research the

company!! I have a brokerage account for real with an excellent advisor and use WSS to improve my understanding of

I signed up for wall stret survivor so my reader's could see exactly what to trade.  I do a lot of TA analysis and I'm fairly accurate at it.  I know my account doesn't show it yet, but I've only been trading for 2 days.

I'll get into the top 1000 or 100 eventually...

If you do decide to stop by my blog site, can I ask you some questions about making friends at Wall street Survivor?

For instance, I haven't even figured out how to leave someone a message on their "Write on Wall". :)

Zee, It seems the buddy system is more of a popularity contest. They don't get picked for their stock market prowess. If you want hundreds of buds post a hot photo. Some folks just collect buddies to collect "loyalty points" which seem to be worthless.

Hi Z, I just sent an invite to be a buddy, but did not get a conformation saying it was sent so there may be a glitch in the system.

And I agree with shotcaller, having tons  of friends on the site for some (not all) seems to be a badge of honor, like if 'I can't win the game, I'll be the most popular'  LOL.

In order to leave a message on someones wall, you go to there page and type a message, if you are not a buddy that person will have to accept/decline your message in order for it to show on their wall, or not.

To show a message on your wall, just type it in the message portion and post.

Hello suzy,

       I am fairly new at this as well and I am learning everyday. I am still gambleing alot and hope that research will help me sharpen my choices. I think the idea is to find a company that you like, then research it and findout if they have more debit than income, if they have dividends, and have large amounts of cash. read alot and read some more. even the bad advice has something that you can learn from.

I'm doin' great today. My "wise picks" from Friday paid off nicely today. Let's just go ahead and not talk about my  "unwise picks". If we could just go ahead and not do that ... that'd be great. UMMMMmmmmmmmkayyy? Greaaaat. 

You'll be fine though, really. Just think about all of those Lemmings running off the cliff with their GOOGLE stocks and pick something else that nobody ever talks about. In the end - you'll be doing great. Don't folow the herd - that's my advice.
