    Hi,

I live in Pa. all of my life...My dream is to move out to Arizona one day and retire. Although that is 10 to 15 years from now, the way the economy is going, if I lose my job here I may move out sooner.

I am glad you posted because I would like to get an idea where to settle. I have visited Az many times. I'm thinking more in the mountains, but I have never been to Tucson. Can you give me some insight?

I live in Phoenix.. and I love AZ.

The funny thing about AZ is that you can live in the State and live in 4 different climates. North and Northeast AZ is the mountain zone where the climate is cool in the summer, but COLD in the Fall and Winter. South and Southwest AZ remains HOT throughout most of the year and real nice in the winter.Tucson is more elevated than Phoenix and western AZ, so it doesn't get as hot. Tucson is my favorite city.

The cultures of each city vary greatly. If you could visit each place for a while before you move here, you would get a better understanding of where you would prefer to live in AZ.

My preference is towards southern Arizona.

I live in Gilbert, AZ (near Phoenix).  My brother and I moved out here from Illinois 11 years ago.  I love this state.  I prefer to live in the Valley as opposed to the Tucson area (just haven't found anything I like down there).  As far as scenery, Sedona is the most beautiful area I've been to (haven't seen the Grand Canyon yet).  But it gets too cold up there in the winter.  I like the heat (yes, even the 118 degree summers).

I sure hope McCain dosen't get in office where will we truly end up?? AZ sounds likek a good place to live while I in Mo. I would love to wake up every morning to look up at the mountains in Denver, Co My girlfriend lives their and they swear by the place. I am going to do a best place to live search and see how it ranks. I would love to live where the weather barely changes though it sounds wonderful with fewer colds. Is this true? Toni

Thanks.....Yea, I think I'm more partial to the mountains. Just love the scenery. I don't want to live out in the sticks though. Right now I live about 30 minutes from Philly and an hour from the Pocono mountains. So I guess I'm looking for something similar. Thanks for your input.

I grew up in South Florida.  That's where I consider myself to be "from."  I loved it there and hated Illinois (mostly due to the weather).  But now I'm really happy in the desert.  I didn't have a problem with the humidity when I lived there, but now that I've been away from it for so long, I don't know if I would want to rush back to it.  When I visit my sister in Houston, as soon as I get out of the airport, it's like I can't breath.

I do miss being close to the ocean.  Now if California would hurry up and disappear...
