    Question about buying power

Hello, I'm new to WSS and investing ect.

I bought up $75,000 in stocks, so i have $25,000 left in cash so to speak.  However my buying power is at about $50,000.

Where does that extra $25,000 come from?

    Thanks in advance

I have a question about paying back "the loan" how do you do this?  Is Just taken when you have a cash balance or do you have to actually choose to pay it off somewhere and if so ... where do I find it?

    Thanks

    Re: margin call

so do you get some sort of a margin call here, or do you just bust when your buying power drops below $.00?

I thing the extra is from the profits of the stocks you have bought.

    Re: Question about buying power

as your stocks go up you get increased buying power...as they drop in value so goes your buying power.

it's basically allowing you to borrow your winnings to spend on another stock.

the additional you are allowed over $100,000 is basically margin, and your buying power can drop below $0 without you being forced to cover anything.
