    Favre the man.....

He quit the Packers......and the packers family, fans and charities too!! (so did Deanna ). No problem, it's their perogative. Is it so unusual that a team has to plan for the changes losing a pro bowl QB entails. The team has to make forward changes to solidify their position in the divisin, the league, and the team ranks. Geeze, Favre was a heck of a QB, but he ended it. Not the Packers or his teammates. he did! It is, unfortunately time to move on. I hope the next QB can handle all this crap and still be able to function!

I agree. Farve was an incredible athelete who took his team to great heights. As a pure football fan I would hate to see him go out as half the man he was. Granted he probably still has great skills, but it is time to move on. The thing that I don't get is players who say they are done and keep coming back. Please go out as Elway did. Retire and stay retired. I'm sure losing the NFC championship last year has something to do with it.

As for the Pack, it will be a tough transition. You just don't find too many Brett Farve's waiting to step in. You have to feel sorry for the next guy to fill those huge shoes...Good luck

He must have taken a note from Diddy: that you can retire and unretire.

Farve's manager sent a letter to request a release for from the Green Bay Packer's. It appears Farve wants to come out of retirement and the Packer's are not enthusiastic about it. I think Farve wants to become a Free agent and play for another team.

I just read an article that The Green Bay Packer's have no intention of releasing Farve. They will make him a back up quarterback to Arron Rodgers. I think they are tired of Farve's inability to make a decision.

Man, what is with him?? First he retires...then he denies reports he is unretiring and now he wants his release.....He should become a politician...

That said.....He could come to Philly and become a backup to Mcnabb......Since Mcnabb gets hurt EVERY year, Farve would be starting again......

Favre has gone from being a complete class act who was one of the best quarterbacks in the game, to being a ME,ME,ME, kind of guy. The fact that he was one of the best QB's hasn't , but the image has. Stop now and enjoy your retirement, before more damage is done.

Agreed. I like to see good players go out in style. Similarly, I understand Shaq went to the Suns for a chance at the championship. I'd like to see him quite possibly this season or the next. I hate seeing good players wither away and get benched.

If the packers decide they have had enough of this charade and do release Farve. What team do you think would be a good fit for him? I would think Baltimore would since they have needed a QB for years. No disrespect to Mcnair, but he was always nursing some kind of injury. I still can't beleive that the pack will release him and seeing him in another uniform would be strange. When you think of Farve, you think of the Packers. I'ts a shame it has come to this....

The fans have now pushed Green Bay management into a corner with their rally for him and their ultimatum. It is a lose, lose situation for them. If they cave they look spineless, if they don't they probably have a major fan boycott. I would not want to be in their position. There is only one person to blame for this fiasco, I don't even have to mention his name. Welcome to sports in the 21st century, you sure can call it progress. Selfish will do.

well i can understand though...if you play because you love the game..it must be hard to just completely stop altogether...just give it up....any retirement is hard..but to retire from a sport where there is such a rush every time you go onto the playing field...it must be so difficult...it isn't even the money at that point it is the adrenaline...
