Who do you think is a good candidate to be McCain's VP?

    Well folks,

You do YOU think should be the Vice-Presidential candidate for the Republican Nominee John McCain, and why? Please be as elaborate as you can as to your reasoning. Looking forward to hearing your responses and reading the debates on this thread!

Well he's lost the far right, on one hand. On the othe hand Independents, "the last I heard" were flocking to Obama.

Personally, I don't think Mother Teresa could help McCain.( j/k ) Let's see if I were him I'd be looking at that disinfrachised Clinton vote. He needs to do something to counter the Obama effect. Here's someone who may bring a liitle life to the lifeless Republican Party.     Sarah Heath Palin (née Sarah Louise Heath, born February 11, 1964 in Sandpoint, Idaho) is the current Governor of Alaska. She is the youngest governor in Alaskan history (42 years old upon taking office), as well as the first woman to hold the office in the state. In addition to being Alaska's first female governor, and its youngest, Palin is also the first who was born after Alaska achieved statehood. She is also the first Alaska governor not to be inaugurated in Juneau, instead choosing to hold her inauguration ceremony in Fairbanks. She took office on December 4, 2006. Her Lieutenant Governor is Sean Parnell. Palin is the former mayor of Wasilla, Alaska. As Governor, she has maintained uncommonly high approval ratings throughout her tenure

Maybe I'm dumb! Dumber than some liberals!!!!!!!! We'll see. But to me I think each candidate is tring to wait the other one out, and then COUNTER with the most advantageous  person to off set the VP choice!!

At least I'm willing to say my position! Man, do I have a lot to lose.

The economy is not McCain's strongest point, so I believe he needs a VP to cover his short comings. Romney was strong on the economy but his mormon religion is holding him back. Huckabee Had some good points on the economy, but he also needs a second brain to implement them. I am not too knowledgable about the other candidates for VP, so I can not comment on them. Candi Rice and Colon Powell are good with foreign affairs, but I believe that the economy would pose a challenge to them. I agree with surveybob. I think each Presidential candidate is holding out to see who steps out first to make a move, then get a VP to pull them ahead in the polls. If I had to pick someone, I would choose Huckabee.

One reason each why Condi and Powell won't be considered. Condi is too tied to Bush, and Powell is not much younger than John. He needs someone about 15 to 20 years younger.
