I bought CPSL and it came up as restricted fund so im thinking im supposed to cancel that???

also i bought a bit more google and came up as restricted

so whats up with that? 

Since it is Saturday, and the market is closed, I think that when you place a trade when the market is closed, it sets aside the money needed to make that trade the next day in the restricted funds column.  It is just set aside to make the trade for you when you market opens again.

I'm new at this too and came up with similar restrictions since I bought the stock when the market was closed.

If you have cash and buying power you can place trades on the weekends it will just put it in the restricted funds and you WONT see the cash or buying power change so keep an eye on restricted as you buy on weekends

 If you have excess cash and you don't know what to do with it on the weekends, just send it to me. I need a new boat.

Seriously, Belovedlife, when you set up your trade, you got a message in your confirmation saying that the market was closed when your order was received.  Then if time gets away from you, you have a reminder to check the clock and/or callendar.  LOL!

there is only a certain number of stocks, when the magic number comes near they restict them.  it can be a pain.
