dang james you were right up there with me, i just looked DANG what did you do so i can stay away from it. j/k it is still way early, i figure the people in my little group are the only ones i can compete with cause those other guys (top 10ers) are way out of my league. don't give up you are still ahead of me on the permanent one!!!!

 as early as it is i'm sure you can a couple of good picks and you'll be past me again!!!!

 Don't worry, you will pick up again. I did!! I gained a couple thousand today, 3.5K to get back to START...lol

OUUUUCCHHH! works for me. My short trades are hurting me.

 shorts should be held onto, if your initial view/value of the stock still stands. today was not a GOOD day by any means. check out the volume in today's "good" day, volume this low hasnt been seen in a while. this low volume shows indecisiveness among the indices and should be falling anytime soon. so if you're only down a few points on your shorts and you're shorting what you believe to be an unhealthy stock, i'd advise to hang onto them for a little while longer, waiting for the rug to be pulled from underneath the market, because it will happen.

Yep I think thats what I did awolnine, I got scared with my shorts and sold for a huge lose instead of hanging tight =/

Im new and have aquick question on selling short.  I shorted 100 shares of THN (no idea what it is saw scrolling on th top esterday and it had a short button next to it)  Anyways HOW do I and WHEN do I sell it back?  Thank you for helping a newbie i advanced.  I really have n clue what Im doing Im just here for the loyaly points and to have fun.

I'm feeling pretty good. 3 trading days in and I've broken the top 700. That's not bad, Right? Well now to see if I have any staying power. Trade on Traders.

you would do what is known as a buy to cover in which y cover the positions you borrowed (your shorts). this can be any time you want. sell it if the company is showing strength or hang onto it if the company is showing weakness. this can all be judged by daily volume and trends.

thank you awoline I covered it but I think I should have held on to it for one more day the stock was still going up today bad me.....
