My picks seem to be doing a little better this game, but I know not to get too confident.  They can really plummet in one day.

been bouncing around a lot but had a great day today.  went from ranking in the 5000's to near 1700...wow!

It takes some getting used to, but as long as you do your research, you'll do pretty well. I've been on less than a week and already made almost 2 grand. It's exciting to say the least : )

Ive been here a week and I have made just under 3 grand this week.  I find myself being inpatient though.  as soon as a stock starts t op fall I m like "Oh no I gotta get rid of it".  But I have managed to hold on to XON and GOOG this week.  I dont think I have the patienceto play tis game but Im gonna keep on keeping on.

Thats cool!!! I have been here one week made about 8K but I am doing it off of dollar stocks so really its not like "investing" but more like day trading which is probably not realistic....good for you guys and making profits in a fairly side to side market!

In this market it's hard to say, last month ALT ENERGY and Gold were doing hot but since then the market has started to correct itself and the stocks that went thru the roof have started back down to the basement again....unless you have the resources to do some serious research it might be tough but it can be done

I use OptionsXpress.com (free sign up) to help locate my stocks and Investors.com to chart and analize them (theres a monthly fee for that tho) You can also go to Nasdaq.com theres a lot of useful tools there and it's free

One more thing get books lots of books and read them they are your best tool in any kind of market, look thru the Newbies forum and theres another here to on good books to read, William J. O'Neill "How to make money in stocks" Good luck and stay Green =)

I've been in this game for about 2.5 weeks ad I'm swimming near the bottom. I am seriously considering focusing my attention on one stock per day and only trading that stock. I have trouble hanging on to stocks - I chicken out and sell them too soon...

I had the same problem when I first started...but try like 3 maybe 4 at a time and dont buy the max amount...if the stock starts to do well then buy more....I dont know how new you are to the stock market, but you might even try shorting 1 or 2 and going long with 1 or 2 and if thats confussing what I just typed....refer back to the first section and ignore this part LOL

Thanks for the advice. I tried shorting a few, and I made a little money. I'm gonna try to concentrate on 3 or 4 at a time, and baiscally follow your advice. I am very new to the market - I'm trying to learn how to do this, so I can do it successfully in real life...
