I played the risky portfolio, and added some of my own.  The pre-picked stocks didn't so as well as the ones I picked.  I would have only have made a few hundred dollars if I stuck with the pre-picked portfolio, but have made over $3,000 so far.  Some of the stocks in the pre-picked portfolio were good and I never would have thought of buying them, some I have had to get rid of.  I am still wondering what to do with TLT though.  Anyone have have any ideas about TLT?

Sounds interesting ... Maybe I should have considered picking up a ready-made portfolio when this contest began harder.

Oh well... I'm going downhill just fine all by myself.  LOL!!

Of course going downhill without benefits of skis makes for a bumpy journey ... <VBG>

Sometimes your own gut feeling is better than anything you can get from anywhere else.

It was doing fine by itself in the beginning....then I added a couple of stocks!!! KaBoom....now under 100K! So much for my stock picking ability! Still hanging on to most of it though cause it's a long time to end of contest.

In my pre-selected portfolio was a stock DBC.  It has been the best stock!!  I never heard of it so I never would have bought it, but it is the best stock in my portfolio.  In checking it out, I think it will be a good stock for this contest, and you may want to look into it.  It was down yesterday so it may be a good time to buy, as I think it will continue to go up.

    Re: Risky Portfolio

I chose to make my own, maxed out on Apple when it was low, have made a couple hundred, added some orbit, and today i put in 800 Tata Motors stock, i bet they will sky rocket when Jaguar and Land rover take off again, plus when they release the Tata Nano, for only $2,500 that car will be HUGE !

Whats with the limit thing, do you have a cap on how many trades or how much money you can use a day???
It doesnt let me complete some of my trades.

Also, what kind of rewards are they talking about when they say that Loyalty points are redeemable for rewards...?

I like the ready made portfolio too.  I used about half of them in mine and changed the other half.  Up about $5,000.  Hope my luck continues.
