Teachers, in my opinion, have a right to give their views. However, they should stipulate that they are their views.

I hope this was not a civics teacher. :-) Teachers are paid to educate, passing personal views from an authoritarian position can have undue influences on our kids. (maybe not so much at 17) Maybe our teachers can give their views on religion too. No can't have that!

Sorry ray, but our teachers take many liberties, in part, emboldened by lazy, apathetic parents that don't bother to check what is being taught. If that comment was about religion, that teacher would be in trouble.

    Thanks for voting.................

Congratulations, its nice to see that so many teenagers are tunning into politics. As far as the teacher is concerned, and as far as I can tell no law was broken. Now if she said that "if you don't vote for Clinton you get a D on your report card", well I'd be the first one to throw  the book at her. (excuse the pun).

I totaly agree with education ,but don't you think it should be taught including both sides of the political table and not taught on the teachers PERSONAL agenda.children are supposed to learn by knowing the facts of both sides not just what the teacher wants them to know.I think thats slightly unfair to our children.

ray.... you are right..... teachers are authoritarian figures to our children. They sit in classes and expect to be taught.  And assume what they are taught is correct. A class debate might work though.... or something like that.

    Thanks for voting.........

Ron Paul is the 4th canadate. He teaches the constution. Some facts and figures for you.

Min. wage should be $31.00 hr. due to inflation from the 70's to the 2008's.So how far is the fall.

Why should we trust the fed's figures?  The answers is we shouldn't. If you are earning  30.00 or less adjusted for inflation from the 70's you are in a Depression. If you are earning 31.00 to 61.00 hr. you are just above the poverty level. The middle class needs to earn 1,2000.00 hr. to stay middle class.Need I say more.  Pay cash. Do NOT BUY ON CREDIT. DO NOT TAKE OUT LOANS> JUST PAY CASH> LISTEN TO SUSIE ORMAN. PAY CASH.

This is utterly ridiculous.  A "Teacher" is supposed to teach, not impose his or her views upon the students.  It would have been more appropriate if she wanted them to think about the candidates to let them research and report.  I would contact the State PTA and inform them.

Very good, and I agree. (though i'm not to sure about Suzie Orman) her strategy is good for a 20 year old. As far as long term planning. But, if your in your late 40's not so good , unless you live to be 90, and by then, money will be the least of your worries.

I bet your view would have been different if that teacher would have told her to vote for McCain. I think a teacher saying that is way over the line.

I was a teacher, and I would never tell students who I would vote for.  A teacher's job is to inspire and excite students to learn.  I am very discouraged with all the emphasis on testing, etc., let alone all the teachers who try to beat facts into kids' heads.  I wouldn't want my kids to have a teacher who pushed their political viewpoints. A teacher cannot take a biased position when they are supposed to be an advocate for every student placed in their care.  Any teacher who does that sullies the name of good teachers, and parents should report such unethical behavior.

Bishop .... you say you were a teacher, I hope you didn't leave due to this subject matter. And congrtulations for your very reasonable stance. So simple and easy, but politically incorrect today.

My sister-in-law was (retired) a math teacher in the Milwaukee Public School sys. She got in trouble with her Principal and Union because she would not pass kids that wouldn't or couldn't do the work and they couldn't do the algebra because thety were passed to her without knowing the material. She finally had to compromise (because of pressure from other teachers, parents and the administration) on giving the kid's D's just for showing up and completing assignments - right or wrong.  Her no nonsense system actually got a number of kids to buy in and try their best.  Some education system.

Sorry for getting off the political subject matter a bit

This is rediculous.  Teachers are not supposed to be pawning off their views/beliefs to our children.  They should present the facts for both sides and let the students decide.

This is why my wife and I opted to home school our children.  We don't want the dribble being taught in public schools being forced down our children’s throat.  We, as parents, know what is best for our children, not some political activist, promoting evil politicians, or that homosexuality is an OK lifestyle.  We tell our children that it is up to the individual to choose their beliefs, but because someone chooses an immoral belief does not make it OK.  Yeah, I know, it is not a choice, "your born that way."  Maybe or maybe not, but in either case, one still has to choose to live their life in a manner that is unhealthy and unnatural.

Ron Paul would eliminate the Department of Education and allow the parents to choose what is taught to their children through local board of education.

     Support Ron Paul.

actually the view would'nt be different ,this is'nt a personal agenda but infact is in referance to teaching and letting our children decide for them selves based on what they believe.
