    Ouch.

I am down 16.6%! I have 20 very different stocks. ALL are in the red! I'm not resetting because

    A) I am trying to treat this as if it were real (there's no "free reset" button in real life)

    B) Because I think that if I am currently choosing stocks that are doing poorly, then I probably will just still make poor choices with a reset portfolio.

How is everyone else doing? How many stocks are currently in your portfolio?

Are you using your permanent portfolio?  You can use it for your "real life" testing, and the contest one for the contest.

Stocks have been exceptionally volitile lately.  I didn't want to reset mine, but when I looked at being too low to be in the contest, I decided to try again.  The advantage to WSS is that it is not real life, so you can get a fresh start and figure out where you went wrong before.  I didn't want to spend my points on a reset, so I was happy to get them for free, and I am doing much better and seem to have learned better how to pick ... we will see how long that lasts.  LOL!

    GOOD LUCK and HAPPY TRADING!

I currently have about 8 stocks and 3 are down.  I'm short on all 8 by the way.  I have too many positions, I've always had that problem.  I think it started when they used to tell us to "diversify".  If I can survive this, I'm going to have less positions and also, make sure to take a good look at the 50 day ma. every time I want to enter a position.  Oh yea, and don't forget to cover when the market bounces.... before the close!

    Re: Ouch.

I have two bank stocks, two tech stocks and an ebay in my portfolio. I purchased all of them when I thought they were low. After today, I'm in the red on all of them but 4 of them are just barely so. The last one, a bank, dipped down in the last few minutes and i'm hoping it will rally on the next up swing so I can dump it. That one bank excluded, I think the stocks I picked are going to go well over the next two days.

It's difficult to pick well unless you are willing to stand on the computer all day. I have to try and pick and then check it once a day or so. All in all, I have to say I'm surprised I'm doing as well as I am.

    Good luck to you all......

I love that the resets actually help me and push me to think of new strategies.  I had like 20 open at one time, and did horribly.  So I'm now going to pick a few, but put much more thought into the picks.

I'm down 29%, that's not much of a surprise - this is why I don't do stocks in real life.

I resented too and seem to be doing better then before. Of course I am very new to stocks and just learning the terminology is challenging... I have 4 stocks, 2 of which are banks,

I guess I proved the phrase "the more [stocks] the merrier" wrong!

Try msn real time quotes they are a blessing to me. Get some sort of strategy in your game. Like now I am day trading because every thing is a win lose situation. This is best for me. You will learn eventually. Seems like it is taking me forever to learn this trade stuff but I am not giving up. I wish you luck. For a long time I said that I wasn't going to reset until I got down 42 thou. Ok. Hey its not real its a game and your trying to get ahead the best you can to hopfully win a prize and learn from your mistakes so reset you;'l feel better.

If you reset, do your loyalty points, loyalty points ranking, and buddy list all remain untouched?
