    Two moons on Aug 27th

27th Aug the Whole World is waiting for.............

Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultivate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles off earth. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons.

The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

I'll look for it if I'm awake at that hour.  I'm usually asleep by then.  But if I am awake, I'll have a great view sleeping under the stars.  ;)

This is the message I got

The Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky in month of August.

The Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky in August of 2005.  It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye.  This will culminate on August 27 when Mars comes within 35 million miles of earth.  Be sure to watch the sky on August 27, 2005 12:30 am.  It will look like earth has two moons.  It will not happen again until 2287.

RAINBOW BRITE, THANKS FOR THE INFO.  I'M SURE I WILL SLEEP THROUGH IT BUT MAYBE THE NEWS WILL HAVE IT ON IN THE MORNING.  LEAVE IT TO ME TO SLEEP THROUGH SOMETHING THAT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN UNTIL 2287.  IT'S JUST LIKE THE TIME I SLEPT THROUGH THE TORNADO.  TO THIS DAY I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW I DID THAT!

If you ever see Mars looking as big as the moon, you have about 10 seconds left before the collision.
