    TOO HOT IN THE SUN

Looks like PG&E's move in California might help push Congress to vote for the continuation of incentives for the solar industry. The sector started a movement yesterday.

Started an entry position in SOL before earnings. This company sells its product in China, hence no currency influence.

Of course FSLR is best of breed and is normally able to beat the competition's prices.

I am actually on a waiting list to have solar panels erected on my roof.. the "rent" you pay for them is basically your electric bill paid the them instead of the electric co. Dows that make sense?

That is cool! I mean hot! I mean AWESOME.  In some parts of Austin, the utility companies are issuing incentive payments to residents that convert to alternative energy sources.

Texas is behind California but is showing signs of progress in this arena.

Houston has some action going on the shorelines with wind turbines.

Solar is definitely a viable choice here in southern California.  <G>

And I am happy to learn of new types of solar panels that produce multiples of the energy that they used to.  I think Pickins is right on ... we have the technology NOW to produce 20% of our energy needs, and with new developments, we will be providing even more of it.

Wind power is great, but solar is more dependable.  :-)

I've heard that these stocks are "hot" buys before, but haven't heard much about them in the recent past. Thanks for sharing this info.

Re: TOO HOT IN THE SUN

Your absolutely correct, alternative energy has been very cyclical in recent times. Sadly the market shows greater interest when the price of oil is rising. It's like the government not encouraging alternate energy when prices are down, that's part of the reason we are in this situation.

As you know the market is very fickle. I believe that long term there is no choice, we must seek solutions from all possible sources.

So long term I am bullish on this sector. There is a ton of R&D in the pipeline that will produce many investment opportunities.

Corky, This is a good solid company. When looking at the financials I noticed they have benefited from currency exchanges.Wonder how their income will be effected with the strength of the dollar. The stock started good today but crashed with the rest of the market today.
