    What is your target Range?

hey folks i,ve been reading up on alot of post and noticed that within alot of the chats not much is said about goals.

I've placed my bets on a couple of horses and set a price at witch i will sell no matter how high it gets.

Since the market is like trying to guide a elephant trough a nitro plant, it would only seem natural to take baby steps with our goods no?

anyway i would love some feedback if possible.

    Sincerely.

i try to set goal but the market has other ideas for me, it ususally goes the opposite direction of my goal, i would be happy if i could end each contest better then the one before of course i would like to end on the plus side but, just better then the last is good for me

I try not to buy too many shares of one stock. I try different stocks from 2 o r3 sectors to test the waters.

What kind of goals are you looking for? Are you asking about stock price goals, portfolio goals, or what? I'm just hoping to break even. I had a bad run at the beginning when stocks fell.

Well my taget range is simple...a 100% return profit... find the lowest stock thats being shorted out to the max then see it climb to its original target or more.

Since the Financial market been hit hard  and there alot of spectacular climbs right now . Take in acount  also some energie markets that are being oversold or shorted.

there some shorts out there that's gonna blow up pretty soon.

so far so good i got 3 stocks at 45% more of there value and a few stocks that are going to climb real soon.

Yet some people hold information that are more than vital and that's where im collecting yur imput.

40% return for the duration of this contest, 60% would be ideal seeing as how i have consistently been able to do just that in my real life portfolio. if i can dangle around a 40-60% return with a sharpe ratio of 3+ i'll be happy and confident in my investing. i also planned to do this just under 30 trades, seeing as how thats how many trades i usually make within a 4 month period because of commission fees. i play this game like how i play the market in real life and a 40-60% annual return (consistently), imo, is something to brag about especially in a market like this one. as for right now, there is A LOT of overreacting in the market and there are decent growth stocks getting pounded for it. im holding companies that are excellent growth stocks and plan to hold onto them until true valuation is met. ideally everybody would want to make 100% return but its a high risk and inconsistent goal, imo. but i guess i can be proven wrong when someone shows me a 5yr track record of 100% returns annually.

Re: What is your target Range?

Thats one reason I am glad they are going to the % system. I really got into some bad habits trying to make money to win this game or at least place well enough to win something and what I was doing was cheating myself. I finally got my head out of you know where and I am going to change my strategy when the new game starts.

I have a portfolio on another site and decided to get serious with it and see how well things worked and I was totally amazed this week. I bought stock in 6 different companies after doing about 30 hours of research I found those out of 85. I placed the orders sunday evening (8/10) and used $300,000. Monday I made a profit of $9,000, tuesday I made another profit of $6,000, wednesday another $6,000, thursday was $4,000, and today another $4,000 roughly, I made a total of $29,437 almost 10% off my initial investment in one week. My goal is to be confident in my trading and I think I am getting there =)

Oh just a side note for the heck of it....I was researching more tonight when I got home, the site I use to do this cut me off after viewing 300 companies, I only found 19 that were decent enough to look at and I still have to go thru those to pick the top 5-8 LOL

It's important to know what you're playing this for. Some people are playing for the experience. Some are playing to see if their stock picks would do welll because they're really certain they're stock market geniouses. Others play for the casual gaming experience. If you're going for the big prizes though, you really have to know what you're doing!
