    New Contest and Prizing Format!

The new contest starts Tuesday, September 2nd, right after Labor Day. We are moving to a perpetual contest format where your portfolios NEVER get erased. Prizes are awarded based upon percentage gains rather than absolute dollar gains.

So, after the current contest ends on Friday, August 29th, your contest portfolio will not not change or be reset. You will be able to continue to trade through the Labor day weekend and your trades will get filled at Market open on Sept 2nd.

The new prizing structure features Monthly, Weekly, Daily prizes and a brand NEW Loyalty Points prize! Every Week and Month, a new contest will start and you will be able to see how you stack up in each category on the Leader board.

Every month we will give away over $20,000 in cash and prizes to more than 200 Survivors!

To learn more about prizing, please see our corporate blog at

    New Loyalty Points Prize!

New for this contest, we will give $1,500 every month to the Survivor who earns the most Loyalty Points that month (not the Survivor with the most Loylaty Points overall).

You can always reset your portfolio yourself, but it won't help you win anything.

The prizes are based on percentage gains rather than dollar gains.

Sorry, I gotta say I do NOT like the perpetual portfolio idea.  I understand that you are giving prizes based on percentage performance, however, people with larger portfolios will have larger buying power capabilities and therefore have more opportunities to invest than those with smaller portfolios, and therefore more opportunities to win prizes.  Please let me know if I am wrong about the buying power capabilities, but as it is now, the larger your account, the more buying power you have.

I have to agree with Derricka, I like the format but like she says the people that have done well in the present game may have a better chance than me in this case. my port value is around 65000 I know it sucks but hey Ive been waiting for this game to be over and start fresh I know there is a reset button but what the heck is up with that , When the starting gate opens the race is on but if a horse gets off to a bad start they dint get a chance to start over and when the race is over they all start from the same starting gate there next race.I like the game but not that much as to spend 10dollars on a reset each time i make crappy trades, But hey thats just my opinion, Keep up the good work WSS and please explain if Derricka and I are wrong

I am sure minds are made up at WSS, I still don't like the no reset idea, I do like the whole new concept...But, it's to easy for someone that has a portfolio with less money to make a bigger % increase.

Is my math wrong? If someone that starts with $100,000 and makes $10,000 in a week thats a 10% increase correct?

If someone has $20,000 to start and makes $10,000 in a month thats a 50% increase correct?

does this mean they are scrapping the idea of putting items in the store to buy with our loyalty points?

Players with high or low portfolio values will have an equal opportunity to win the Monthly and Weekly prizes becuase the max. buying power will change from aflat $25k to 25% of Portfolio Value.

That way, no matter your portfolio value, everyone will have an euqal chance to score a big percentage gain!

To see the math and a real-world example of how this will work see the Corporate Blog.
