Obama and the “Keeper of the Secret”

Obama and the “Keeper of the Secret”

It seems that every once in a while, our political classes and their media partners place the mantle of “Keeper of the Secret” upon a political figure. After he was assassinated (but not before) John F. Kennedy was given that title.

Alas, the title then fell to Jimmy Carter, but he apparently could not keep the secret, so we waited for Teddy Kennedy, but he had this little problem of not winning the nomination for president. Then it was John Jr., who had to take the New York Bar Exam at least three times before passing it but he, too, died before he could lead us to the Promised Land.

Today, Barack Obama is the official “Keeper of the Secret.” Yes, Obama KNOWS how to make socialism work; he can remake the Law of Scarcity, and he can bring peace and prosperity to everyone simply by manipulating the tax code and subsidizing fascist entities like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Today’s “The Messiah Has Arrived” speech in Berlin was just another example of this worshipful nonsense that the political classes foist upon people. I recently read a bumper sticker with Obama’s picture on it and “Hope” written under the picture.

I’m sorry, but the idea of a politician being the source of hope is too much. And Obama as the Messiah is just plain laughable, yet we can expect to see this kind of coverage for the next year or more, since I am sure he easily will win the presidential election. The last time we saw this kind of political adulation was when the Roman emperors claimed to be gods. That will be the next step for Obama. Stay tuned.

There is as much adulation for McCain as there is Obama, so I don't think he will easily win, as for me anyway seeing either one of them as the Messiah is just too funny.

Sorry but I tend to think that maybe a black man can. I want him to win just to see how much better it could be or worse. He has got my vote. It is high time someone else tried to do a better job in the office. Mcain is old and will not follow through like everyone else says just what is needed and the people want to hear. So maybe O is too. but at least he sounds secure with his position. Not bumbling and carrying on and not afraid to admit to his mistakes. So he hasn't been down this road once or twice he may turn out to be a keeper.

Magoo, if you'd like I am willing to give you the name of a very good therapist in Boston, who specializes in "The Reds are coming" Paranoia, department. Well at least you don't believe that Barack Obama is the Prince of Darkness. But, then you claim that we're... what are we going to do?  Build him a Golden Calf, and declare him a God....You haven't been eating the dog food again, Magoo, have you?

Funny thing is that, After researching McCain, Ron Paul and Obama as far as what their policies would look like. Paul is generally closer to Obama's camp than he is to McCains. Tell me what you think about this comparasion, do we agree?

    Carpe Diem.!!

I will firstly comment that it has not been said enough- Obama will win this election hands down in a landslide victory, you are absolutely right.

    ......Unfortunately

However, there is no messiah, SOCIALISM WILL NEVER WORK- so to all you Marxists out there, I can only say that, those of us who disagree with Marx, are the only people who have ever read Marx.

Get with it people, competitiveness will be with us forever, we have been naturally bred since the beginning of the millenium to build empires  and crush those who are too weak to survive.  Peace and Love for all of mankind, regarding political agenda, died with the failing politics of the 60's and 70's.

....unless he legalizes marijuanna, then everyone will get along

I would love for a black person to be the president of the US but I would rather it was Condoleezza Rice or Colin Powell. Obama I don't like and don't trust.

my guess is that mccain and his supporters are massively underestimating the young people who are voting this year. in the past young people have not come out to vote, but i think obama has inspired the masses of younger voters and that will be the major difference. obama has over 80% of the vote in people aged 18-25, and i'd guess we'll see a 10-20% increase in the number of those voters who come out this time around. the younger generation wants change and while some of us sat back and watched bush run the country into the ground, we're not going to sit and watch while mccain does the same.

a poll shows that obama's popularity is going down while mccain's is going up. Let's hope it continues to do so.

well, it's like Winston Churchill said, "if you're not a democrat when you're 20 you have no heart, if you're not a republican when you're 40 you have not brain." We'll see how it turns out....

Re: Obama and the “Keeper of the Secret”

i dont disagree with your quote/statement, but in my opinion the reason you are a democrat when you're young is because you want change and have a desire for things to get better. when you're 40, you've worked 20 years to get that change and have seen that change and now you want things to stay how they are. the quote isnt saying you're dumb when you're young and smart when you're old. JFK, who was "young and inexperienced," once said "If by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties — someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal."

that is what i suspect every young person who has "heart" wants. i'd also suspect they have brains too... sometimes it takes an inexperienced politician to root out the experience that has plagued our nation for the past 8 years.

There are things about both candidates I like and dislike, too bad it is not possible for them to meet in the middle and work together.

Tonig...please don't get offended.  But I would hate to see you vote for Obama just because of the color of his skin.  Please do not keep that as a reason for voting him in.  I know he is the same color as you and me, he is a brotha, but we are past the racial differences.  We have moved on and WE....as a county...need to vote for the qualities of the person, not the color of the skin.

I know you have other reasons behind your choice, but please...eliminate if you have any racial pros to Obama.  I fear that many have decided their opinion of him based on this il-logical issue.  Thanks.

    Peace me sista
