restricted funds

what are restricted funds? and how do they effect my portfolio?

from what I understand you have placed an order that has not gone through and they restrict the funds until the deal goes through or does not then the money is available again. If you want to free it up you can cancel the orde ryou have pending and get the money to use for something else. At least thatis my understanding but I could be wrong.

i have noticed that you show restricted funds when in go into the 2 $100,000 or the buying power, which is like temp. loan.
