    Energy

What do you think we will be relying on in the next 10 years to provide our energy.  Will it be solar, coal, etc?  I have read some articles which say solar will be our best policy since we will always have sunshine around.

You are probably right about the big oil companies, it will probably be oil or nothing.

i think it will be solar if the gov offerd a tax credit for use. but that probably wont happen and it will stay as it is the politicians will get money from big oil to promote big oil use.

I say solar.  I'm putting that on my house now.  Its expensive though.  But you can add panels as you go for more power.

I'm not too sure which alternative will win out, but solar looks pretty expensive when your adding it to your house. Can you add wind power to your house? I'd imagine solar is the only option for most people... Even then, you need to have sun!

Reneable energy is out, I think we need to think on solar before its to late. We should have been on top of this 15 years ago. But the govern is so obsessed with taxes from oil to make fuel that we have blind sided out own health and welfare of our country in crisis.

I think that coal will make a good supsitute for oil for power gerneration

well I sure hope it isnt coal, oil, natural gas, or any other fossil fuels but it probably will be but if you are looking for a good renewable energy stock try fslr first solar inc I had relatively good success with it I even checked the website and it looks like they have a few large projects wich is probably good

    Re: Energy

The good news is that as the price of oil keeps escalating, alternative sources will become more economically attractive.  But let's face it, if alternative sources really and truly begin gaining momentum, the gas & oil industry will fight back hard.  I can't imagine that they will sit and watch their multi-billion dollar revenue stream dry up.  Won't surprise me if they announce new techniques and breakthroughs within the next few years that will make oil production even more cost effective that will allow them to justify a significant price drop to put financial pressure on the profitability of the alternative energy industry.

I think a more realistic long term source for us will be nuclear energy.  Instead of putting gas in your car, you'll recharge with electricity.  This new demand will require upgrades to our national power grids which will mean construction of more nuclear plants.

It is a matter of economics......when the price of one item goes up, people run to that which is cheaper, so alternative fuels/energy makes sense to go to with the high price of fossil fuels.

I'M NOT SURE WHAT IT WILL REALLY BE BUT I MYSELF HOPE IT WILL BE SOLAR.  IT SEEMS LIKE THAT WILL BE THE CLEANEST WAY TO GO FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT. I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A SOLAR HOUSE BECAUSE I THINK IT WOULD BE SO ECONOMICAL.

I would like it to be solar, but in reality I think it will be a combination of oil and coal (until there is no more)...

Wind is what all of the ETF-ers are talking about these days, especially FAN.  So wind may be it. Clean energy is huge right now, if you are interested in it you may want to check out http://www.etfmarketpro.com/clean-energy-etfs.html
